cannot start Call of Warhammer

When I installed Call of Warhammer, no shortcut appeared on the desktop and when I went into the medieval II total war kingdoms file to find the shortcut in there it said "Windows cannot find 'kingdoms.exe', make sure you typed the name correctly and try again". I'm using vista and got the download link from http://www.fileplanet.com/209632/200...d-Client-v1.44 because the link they give you asks for money to download.

The game should have installed into C:\...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer

In that folder you should find a BAT file that starts the game. Make a shortcut from that (right-click, 'send to\desktop').

So are you saying its not supposed to be installed to medieval II total war-kingdoms\mods?

I've discovered the problem. It appears that the mod created a new folder called "medieval II total war-kingdoms" that contained nothing except the mod and I was fooled into thinking that was the real file. now I've installed the mod into the correct medieval II file but it is still having issues. When I open the "warhammer batch file" it starts the game but upon starting it crashes and I get an error message with only an "!" in it.

Still looks as if the folder (Call_of_Warhammer) isn't in the correct place. I have attached a picture from my installation in the browser. The name of your BAT file might be different.
