    Default Steam Issue

Hi, I'm new to this mod. I recently started playing Roma surrectum again and I also noticed that the new RTR has come out.

I have follow all the instructions given to steam users to play this mod:

If using the Steam version of the game follow the directions below-

    1. Run the RTR VII installer like normal, changing the install path to xxxx/steam/steamapps/common/rome total war gold
    2. Ignore the launcher and short-cut prompts, they won't work
    3. Open Steam, right-click on Rome: Total War Gold in the My Games menu
    4. Select Properties
    5. Under the General tab select Set launch options ...
    6. Type in -mod:RTRVII -show_err -nm without quotations and click OK
    7. Launch Rome: Total War Gold by double-clicking it in the My Games menu
    8. Select Barbarian Invasion from the two-choice list and Launch.

Unfortunetly I still haven't gotten it to work. I just simply goes to the vanilla BI instead of RTRVII.

If anyone has steam and has made this mod to work... can you please assist me?
    Thank you.

Just a thought, but the intro movie is not automatically changed by installing RTR VII, you have to that manually . The BI movie will pop up even if you have RTR installed. However, when you get to the main menu it should be clearly RTR and not BI.

Other than that it is tough to say. You are seeing an RTRVII folder in xxxx/steam/steamapps/common/rome total war gold correct? And when you re-open launch options the -mod:RTRVII -show_err -nm is still there right?

The only thing to double check is that whatever the RTRVII folder is named needs to match exactly what comes after -mod:, maybe you got a space in there somewhere . You could try renaming both (e.g. RTR7)and see what happens. You could also try adding -mod:RTRVII -show_err -nm directly to the .exe instead of through the Steam launch options (I am not sure if this works with a steam app though.)

A screen shot of both the folder, and the launch options would help.

No, you don't want to be renaming RTRVII to RTR7... There are files in that folder that have relative paths coded as RTRVII and if its called anything else, things wouldn't work.

...forgive me if this is a stupid question, but... what is the purpose of the " -nm" code?

    Ah, ok, thanks.

...guess I don't really need it then, since I just replaced the intro.

Quite frankly I tried everything. From renaming the folder to copy pasting the data folder onto BI. Ill reinstall RTWBI once more... try again but if anyone has any idea how I can maybe completely change the vanilla BI folders for RTRVII please let me know lol.
