Icon5 You must answer these questions three (please)

This mod looks awesome annd I cannot wait to get it, but while I am waiting I had a couple questiosn to ask.

    1. Are real recruitment and BGR included in the game already? if not, which versdions are best for each?

    2. The computer I am getting has an intel i7 quad core with 2.0 GHZ a core, 6 BH of Ram, and a 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics card. Will I be able to run medieval 2 well with this computer, since there can be problems with old games and new computers. Also, how long will my turns be with this setup?

    3. How are the Byzantines in this game? They are my favorite faction and I was wondering what changes have been made to them. Also, does this mod include the expanded Byzantine unit roster mod?

Thanks in advance for the answers!

1)Yes they are included...both BGR 2 and 4(enchanted)As for the rr i believe is not the latest version but imo is just fine. There is also the option of disabling RR AOR on or RR AOR off
2)I believe you ll have no problem running medieval with your pc(laptop i guess).
3)I believe the Byz are maybe overpowered in early era...In fact 1/5th of the threads in this forum have a reference to the overpowered Byzantines.

So the game has BGR 2, but if I want BGR IV I have to download it myself right? What is the difference between BGR 2 and IV? Finally, how are the Byzantines in the late game? I usually do not conquer much until later on so I cna use and fight more professional troops. How do the Byzantines fare then?

Edit: Never mind abotu BGR. I found out that it is included in SS verison 6.4. I am still curiosu about late game Byzantine play, however.

Well, you might have some problems with your CPU. i7 is great, but there is a tiny problem. Medieval doesn't support multiple CPU cores (if I have right information). So it might be a bit laggy sometimes. But will work. Standard Medieval II has minimum system requirements of 1.8GHz. Recommended are 2.4GHz. Everything else seems good.

For the Byzantine units in SS 6.4 with Real Recruitment/Real Combat enabled look here: http://www.pressdat.com/mtw2/Byzantium/Byzantium.html

I'm not exactly sure what changes were made, since I didn't play the normal game much myself before SS 6.4.

As BGR II and IV E are already included in SS6.4
You don't need to download separately BGR. The 1st time you run the game, you wll have to choose in the game set-up. So, no BGR or BGRII or BGRIV.

The main difference between BGRII and IV is that BGRIV is much harder. Then it depends how confortable you feel with the game and how experienced player you are with the difficulty level. If you use BGR (any version), I recommend to read the thread dedicated in the submod forum. There are many useful informations.

Here you can find about the BGR http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=106060

If you start in early era the byzantines are strong enough to conquer half of the map and more.
But in the late era they don't get late era troops and they start very weak I thing with 2 or 3 regions.

Imo byz late troops are as good as any others faction.Ok maybe you won't be able to recruit heavily armored units like Gothic knights but overall they are pretty much ok as they compensate their lack of heavy armor with other attributes.
The problem with byz when it comes to late era is that if you start a late era campaign you ll start without Constantinople....which is quite a handicap as your super heavy cavalry can only be recruited there.
An other problem with the byz is that there is a patch for ss 6.4 which really reduces their strength.
No patch:With RR scolarii are only retrainable(before 1204) and then have a replenish rate of 0.5 after 1204
with RR disabled scolarii have a replenish rate of 0.5 and are available from the beginning
With the patch:With RR scolarii are only retrainable(before 1204) and then have a replenish rate of 0.1 after 1204
with RR disabled scolarii have a replenish rate of 0.1 and are available from the beginning

Finally I just want to say that byz are one of the most enjoyable factions to play(i m actually playing an early campaign with rr and byg 4 with the byz at the time)

Scolarii are a kick ass super heavy cavalry unit of the byz....a total must have in every army

Alright, that seals the deel with the Byzantines. But as for the computerm, wouldn't the grahpics card compensate for the game only using one of the four cores?

Don't worry mate, your config is good enough to play this game on highest settings smoothly Just install SS 6.4, raid the sub-mods section ... get anything you find interesting/tempting and play the game hehe.
