    Default Fun with Bryce 3D

I was messing around with Bryce 3D the other day and made this alien outpost type landscape. Thought I'd share it and see if anyone else had done anything similar. I know theres more powerful 3d programs out there but this is all I have installed at the moment.

"And I have felt the sudden blow of a nameless wind's cold breath,
And watched the grisly pilgrims go that walk the roads of Death,
And I have seen black valleys gape, abysses in the gloom,
And I have fought the deathless Ape that guards the Doors of Doom."

    Very cool.

I've tried Bryce, but I never really learned how to use it. I mostly stick to two dimentional stuff, but from the things I've seen from Bryce, it looks pretty nice.

    (I'm a wimp, I know. That's why I use GIMP!)

If you have any more, please post them.

That looks really Is it very hard to work with Bryce, because then I might check it out.

Oh is there any way you can download a trial or something? Because of their website, you can only buy it I think

Thanks guys glad you liked it, I might work on some more and post them.

Bryce is easy , way easy, at least as far as 3d programs go. Sure you can really get in there and do complex things but for the most part it's not bad at all. If you have Poser as well you can make pretty much whatever scene you want, they are both made by the same company I believe, so they work well together.

Note: This image was made using nothing but the "vanilla" textures that came with Bryce 3d, I'm sure you can download tons more to customize it.

Then you should have no problem creating your own bitmaps for Bryce, which you can do. It's basicaly a greyscale image where the darker colors represent a higher altitude and vice versa. It's been years since I made my own so it could be the opposite...white or lighter shades being the higher altitude of the landscape.

But you dont need to know how to do that, Bryce comes with a lot of pre-done mountain scapes that are very customizeable.

Oh yeah, you can animate with Bryce as well. But not complex animations like people talking, but static objects like spaceships flying through your landscape is super easy, you just have to fool with it a while.
