To get above my 16-18fps on arma 2.
What is the weakest link

Well my 2.93 Pentium dual Core can play it on >30 fps, so you should be all set with the Athlon 2.
Your graphics card is junk by today's standards, definitely due for an upgrade, and probably the root of the problem. However, if you're going to game on Windows 7, you're definitely going to need more than 2gb of RAM. I'd recommend at the very least upgrading to 4. 8 wouldn't hurt either, though it may be a bit much considering the rest of your PC.
Just take a look at this chart:

to play Arma at high settings with fluid frame rates you need something close to what i have to play it reasonable well at decent settings
you would want 4gigs of ram a Nvidia GTX 460 / AMD 6850 to reasonable gameplay, and im not sure your PSU would be able to handle powering up said gpus. not without having more specs on hand
CPU: i7 3770K 4.6GHz / i7 4930K 4.4 GHz / i7 4770K 4.6 GHz
CPU HSF: Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro / Review Samples / Review Samples
MOBO: Biostar TZ77XE4 / ASRock X79 Fatal1ty Champion / MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming
RAM: Mushkin Redlines 2x4GB 1866 MHz / 4x4GB Gskill 2133 MHz / 2x4GB Kingston 2400 MHz
GPU: Integrated / GTX 780 / HD 5450 Passive
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1050w 80+ GOLD / NZXT Hale82 650w Modular / same
CASE: Nanoxia DS1 / Nanoxia DS1 / Lian Li Test Bench
HDD: 160 HDD / 512GB SSD + 120GB SSD + 5.5TB HDD / 60gb SSD
If you're at a lower res, a GTS 450 or a 5770 will work as well.

Some more ram would help, it won't double your frame rate but it should help loading times and give you a smoother experience with faster switching between tasks and applications but ultimately your video card probably thinks its owners a crazy fool for asking it to render ARMA 2.
Ok thanks for that.
Yea i got it from basically a dedicated PC place. Had no idea about graphics cards as the previous computer had the integrated one. And when i switched computers i was like "wow this is amazing"
Basically i had a budget of around 800 dollars and said i wanted a computer that could run Napoleon total war well.
If i wait like a year i suppose id be able to get most of these cards for dirt cheap though. Like i can get a Geforce GTS 450 for 280. And thats looks like the ''starter' on the list. With the Geforce GTX 590 for 1500. If i wait a year or so i might just be able to get it for half if i'm lucky. Is that realistic?
I also have no money atm. RAM is a hell of a lot cheaper though yea its not a graphics card.
DO you reckon i'd be able to install both of them in myself? Is it just a case of open it up and just put it in the slot?
EDIT: Turned off the anti aliasing and now its 20-22fps. Thats a massive jump.
