    Default corruption

is there any way in reducing the level of corruption in the game due to distance from capital e.t.c.
its just that i find the larger yo get, the harder it is to make money because you are trying to maintain all these far away cities, but corruption makes it so that you earn 100 per turn from them, as the s elves, after eliminating ootmm and oog i was the richest with over 60000, but then as i headed for isengard and mordor my money started dropping fast. i can sustain my forces but barely. i just think its unrealistic that in another great war, the elves and men would think of being corrupt when their existence is so threatened

Buildings like "town hall" and similar also help fighting corruption. Use high-skilled characters to rule the most distant settlements. Corruption IMHO isn't to take literally, though; it comprehends all the inconvenients of being a thousands mile from you capital; for example the expenses (horses, guards, etc) you must suffer for simply transporting the taxes' incomes from that very far settlement to your capital.
It's only after you have lost everything, that you are free to do anything.

You can build town halls and buildings which increase the law or decrease the corruption modifier value in the "descr_settlement_mechanics.xml"-file.

Is your capital in the economic center of your Empire?

Not only town halls but also the barracks (in citys, not in castles) increase law and they bring corruption down a bit. And moving the capital is essential for reducing corruption. Try moving it and checking your income window each time to get the best location.

    Cheers!

corruption is what happens with cities that are far away from your capital and when they are led by a poor leadership faction leader.

there is no real way to manage corruption. it was mostly added as a way of making sure that no faction could become ungodly powerful.
