Mozilla not displaying .wmv's

Well, title says it all. Mozilla, and IE too, do not display windows media video files. I get the typical message from Mozilla at the top of my browser saying I am missing the player...but I have the latest version and everything. What can I do to remedy this?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling.

First try checking your internet options, for IE under the advanced tab make sure web pages are able to play videos etc.
For firefox....I don't use it except at uni so I can't help you there (I hate the way downloads work for firefox).

IE has that option checked, but I have the same problem there, I am pretty sure.

You haven't by any chance got the player blocked from accessing the internet via a firewall or antivirus have you?
Other than that it might be linked to shockwave player (flash) as most website with integreated videos use flash.
But I doubt the second option there, a reinstall (or system restore to when it worked if you have that enabled) may be necessary.

I don't think it ever worked. It could be linked to Norton, or the fact I have norton and McAfee. I'll check that now.

(also bear in mind i have a wireless connection to this comp)
