    Default Help on Command Stars!

Give your general a strong army, send him out rebel bashing, or send him into many battles/sieges against the enemy, his command will increase! You can also get command increases by sending a general on a chivalry or dread line of actions, try to keep to one line for each general.

Example: Increase chivalry by releasing prisoners, winning against the odds, occupying settlements, having the general in a settlement when you build churches and recruit priests!

Example: Increase dread by executing prisoners, fighting with a huge advantage, exterminating populations, having your general in a settlement when recruiting assasins

Easy way to gain command + chivalry is to send a general on a crusade and follow the chivalry example,

Easy and quick way to get command stars for your faction leader is to recruit assassins and kill everything in sight! while also following the dread example, hope this helps!

TAke a look at their Initial stats...

if you see a General comes alread with say quite a bit of Dread -- then make sure this general is paired with say another FM of questionable Honor. I don't find it as common to have Fam Members with dread, but what they're good for is being War Lords.

So don't use them to occupy or stay put in a settlement, just continually have them out in the field winning battles.

to Increase Chivalry, as others have stated -- you need to win battles in which you are evenly matched or Outnumbered , you need to make sure you RELEASE any captured opponent, and OCCUPY any settlements that you conquer. Essentially you have to be Mr. Nice Guy, altho on the field of battle you can be as ruthless as you want -- and once you start using them more and more, those command and chiv stats will only increase and you will be even better.

One thing I notice sometimes, is that if you attack an army (esp a small one, or one that had just tried to escape after losing a battle) that is really small or meagre, it can reduce your chivalry -- by increasing you Dread! .. . Example: Your army fights enemy king/faction heir, defeats the enemy and enemy seemingly 'slips away' as all defeated armies do. Remains of enemy army spotted by another Military Force of yours, you think "Hey, easy target to kill off big fish!" so you go and attack the 5 body guard, and 150 something rag tag of leftovers with your full army... This will increase Dread for sure, I find in my campaigns atleast.

To get command stars (not chivalry or dread or loyalty necessarily) the leader needs to win battles. It is random apparently, but there is an increased chance of getting stars by winning heroic victories. The easy way to do this is to attack rebels such as a stack of archers and spear militia with just your general. Your general may get a chevron in experience and a good ancillary too. If you fight battles on the map and do not auto resolve, I do not think that the command stars do much, if anything. I have never noticed that it is any harder to win against a 10 star enemy general when I have a 1 or 10 star general. Maybe I just don't pay attention. Of course, if you auto resolve you want to have a very high star general, esp. on higher difficulty settings, or you will be trashed often even if you have 2 to 1 strength.

NOOOOOOONOOOOOOONOOOOOO Autoresolve NEVER gets you a heroic victory. Heroic Victory's are almost certain to increase your command. Get them by beating enemies while outnumbered, and causing huge casualties to the enemy( I can give you some basic tips if your a horrible tactician.)

One tactic that works for all factions is to place the campaign map figurine against a mountain, so you could be on a freakin mountain when they fight you, keep in mind that they can't climb roc so put your heaviest troops at the entrances to your firing positions for your missiles., if you have longbows place stakes at the ends of the entrances. Let your cavalry sit out these battles.

i play as the turks and as the byzantines.....now as the turks....one reason i choose these factions is that their regions have many mountains
