    Default Stainless Steel-like-mod in Rome

Hey guys, I'm in the mood for some ancient battles again.

Unfortunately I was a bit dissapointed by my long awaited RTR 7. You have pretty high standards if you played Stainless Steel for a while!

I'm asking this here, because this community plays the best mod I have ever seen, so your opinion means the most for me.

Which Rome-mod does resemble Stainless Steel the most? ( do not care too much about fancy graphics, more important is challenging gameplay and nice AI)

I was amazed when I first played in the Europa Barbarorum. In my opinion one of the best mods in many respects. Although I found this mod a few years ago still playing it from time to time. And most importantly EBII is comming and is formed on the Kingdoms engine.

If you like RTR and SS, then definitely go for EB.

I would also recommend Roma Surrectum II. In my opinion it's even better than EB, but they're both definitely worth checking out.

I second RSII. EB was good, but RSII is a much better balance between historical accuracy and a fun campaign. But if historical accuracy is your thing, go for EB. Myself, I found it could be a little tedious at times.

    RSII is also prettier too

RSII is not much fun for me. So many units, buildings that are not actually buildings etcettera.

The "buildings that were not buildings" were foundations structures that usually represented the time it took to integrate a city before you could recruit your faction's units from it or create high-end economic structures. I seem to recall EB has similar structures?

What is the difference between EB and RSII?

Roma Surrectum II is closest to SS in terms of quality, almost equal.
