Tips for improving performance?
Yeah, just as the title states, does anyone know of ways to improve performance without giving up too much quality? Like obviously if I make everything low and set unit size to small I'll see a great boost in performance. But what if I want huge units and decent graphics, are there any tweaks to help improve performance?
The only two I know of are 1) set AA using your gfx card control panel instead of RTW options, and 2) set unit detail to high instead of highest for essentially the same graphics but much less stress on the system.
Are there any more?

One thing that I can suggest, if you play on the Huge Unit settings and like playing full stack battles, don't use Highest Unit Details. This setting disables sprites altogether and there are very few machines, if any, that can cope with it. You can change the Unit Detail while you are actually playing the battle, so if you encounter unacceptable lag, try reducing the Unit Detail, a notch at a time, and see if makes any difference.
