Recommended difficulty
Greetings from Canada
,
Ive been waiting for RTR 7 since it was first announced i dont even remember how long ago lol, so now thats finally released i havent been able to stop playing it. I love all the new things that have been implemented in this mod and the battles are both challenging and highly addictive.
Although i keep wondering what is the best or "recommended" difficulty setting to play with in RTR7? As far as now ive only played VH/VH which makes the whole game extremely challenging and fun, but also its kind of unhistorical as almost every empire i encounter tries to kill me. also in battle 2 equally strong band will fight, and most of the time ill end up losing. i know this happens to give the enemy units a boost to make up for the lack of tactic maneuvers, but im wondering if somehow the improvement of the AI also makes them more tactically based.
In H/VH ive seen that empires are usually more "realistic", not going to war with you every other turn, and they accept treaties more willingly than other difficulties. Anyway i just want to know from the creators point of view which should be the preferred difficulty for this game?

Re: Recommended difficulty
units stats were balanced on M but i like H/H so that the AI factions are a little more active on the campaign map

Re: Recommended difficulty
I play on H campaign and VH battles. It becomes really difficult then and Spartan hoplites are almost immortal :-)

Re: Recommended difficulty
VH campaign is bugged afaik, so H would be the hardest campaign setting. This is only about money the AI gets I think.
For battle: VH is annoying, M too easy but realistic, so I take the middle...to counter some AI shortcomings.
