Auto Merge...

Having huge problems with the auto merge (Ctrl+M). After a battle i do not want my units too AM so i press Ctrl+M but they merge regardless, so i press it again thinking that i may of turned it on but after the next battle they merge again! Iv'e lost some valuable units with this problem and it's really getting old.
Am i doing something wrong? is it even Ctrl+M? or do i have to press it at a specific time during battle or on the strat map?
I would love the option too turn it off altogether.

Pressing Ctrl+M automerges your units...

I know it does. Auto merge is set by default so my units will merge, I heard that if you press Ctrl+M it turns on/off auto merge. Except it wont turn off for me.

Had the same problem. I would like the automerge to be OFF by default, but it is always ON.

If you really want to turn it off I can tell you how, but if something goes wrong with the game its not my fault

I can live with it now, but im hoping the team gives us the option to turn it off in future patches. That way ppl like me are happy aswell as ppl who like AM.

I was just asking because i though you could turn it on/off with Ctrl+M but it seems as though THIS, IS.... not the case

Here's if you want to turn auto merge off. Install/unpack either to desktop or Rome - Total War folder (where you have installed RTR) and you wil find 2 additional folders. Use auto merge folder OFF to turn the script off and ON if you want to turn it back.

You'll need to use RTRVII folder inside each one (either one) to override your RTRVII installation.

We are trying to make it so automerge only effects the AI, however, if we are unsuccessful we will probably switch it off by default in the next HotFix.
