RTW:Barbarian Invasion Uninstall/Install problem, urgent!

Hello there.

I recently felt the urge to play Rome tw again after 6-7 months of Empire tw.

I remembered playing some Roma Surrectum 2 before i stopped playing the last time... so i was gonna get that one now too.
After installing Rome TW, i went on to install Barbarian Invasion, but instead showing the installation menu it tells me that i already have the game installed, which i find funny because i can't find any content on my harddrive associated with the BI expansion...

So i try to uninstall it using the Program Remover in the Control Panel, but the uninstallation freezes completely after 5 seconds... so i tried to use the 'Repair' option instead, and yes it worked fine through out the installation...
But when i run the game it's missing LOADS of smaller files that are nessecary to play it... including the .exe file

(i tried running it by downloading a pirated .exe file (aka crack), note that i bought the games legally).
I've tried small cleaning programs like Ccleaner, i've tried uninstalling rome and then uninstall BI, i've cleaned out the harddrive from Rome files and folders...

But NOTHING works, and i cannot find a solution that works for me in any other forum that i've been to...

Does anyone have any solutions for me, or maybe just some information on what might cause this problem!? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, this is my last resort! Thanks!

1. Throw away the crack.

Thanks for the reply, at first i had no clue what u was talking about, but im just about to reboot my comp now, brb with a report!

Oh and, i only used the crack to see if it would run using it, not intending to download a pirated copy of the game itself, thanks!

Thanks for the link, it helped alot, but still it does not look good.

On the bright side, the 'RomeTW BI' icon on 'remove programs' arent 2,6Gb anymore, it's 16Mb.

However, it's still registered as installed, and the same problem appears when i try to uninstallt, it freezes.

Something very odd was that it removed files from C;/program files/total war, when there isnt even any Activison or The creative Ass folders left, the link you posted was great and i had alot of reg files that wasnt deleted. now they're gone.

I will try to install Rome and BI later, maybe it works after all.

It appears that it did not solve the problem, i will try to 'repair' the game now, if it don't work then i dont know anymore... really pissed about this :S

Requires a total reinstall to get it recognized. Repair won't do it.

Search your harddrive(s) for anything rome and dete it.

You may end up using regedit and doing the same search.

I've fixed the problem by installing the whole thing on my laptop and then transferred it to my stationary comp.

Thanks for the help, it was helpful! - there is only one problem with the game now, on campaigns i cannot play siege battles, crashed just after loading , but it's nothing i can't fix... and frankly idc about that kind of battles so much. Thanks again
