Sorry if this sounds stupid but,if either of these mods is installed are they easy to uninstall? Also can you install both or os ot one or the other?I only ask this as i am thinking of using one and am not too happy about going into the internlas of the game and changing bits and pieces(cos i know im bound to stuff it up!)being computerly challenged.

You could use a mod switcher (you can find one or two in the download section), but then you'll have to delete some files by hand to make the mods work properly. Or you could make various installs of RTW, since the mods are NOT uninstallable.

My trick was to install a stock RTW 1.0 game and then back up my entire "Rome - Total War" subdirectory as a giant RAR file and then copy that onto a DVD-R. Whenever I want to install a mod, I can just copy that stock 1.0 game off the DVD-R, put it in a differently named subdirectory, apply whatever patches and mods I need, and presto! I'm off to the races.

So let me get this right in my head Darth.I back up my RTW to a disc. Then use the disc as a framework for the mods and have it installed(the disc)in a different folder? The next question is how do i backup thw RTE subdirectory(assuming i find out what that is!Told you im not too hot on computers)to the disc?

You can just go into the RTW directory, copy the entire Rome-Total War folder in the Activision folder and Rename it. Then install whatever mod you want into one of the directories- either the first Rome-Total War folder or into the copied one. Then you can run the game from whichever floder you like. Hope that helps.
