Default A few questions... because things are not right in the Kingdom of Jerusalem

Alright, so i've fiddled with this mod in the past, but i just recently have invested any real time into it. I decided i wanted to be the Kingdom of Jerusalem because it looked like a fun campaign and i'm a fairly large fan of the movie Kingdom of Heaven (the extended directors cut of course). Anyway, for the first little while i was having a blast. Getting the economy going was challenging but not impossible, and the AI seemed to defend their cities far better then the vanilla game. But after a bit things got really weird. I decided i wanted to become friends with all the christian factions in order to help me in the inevitable Turk and Ayuuib (spelling?) attack. However, i found that the Roman's, no matter how nice i was to them were utterly unrelenting in their hatred of my fledgling Kingdom, and even had the audacity to go to war with me a few times, and i was forced to slaughter a few of their armies in defense. Anyway, i was eventually able to broker some form of peace, and it lasted for about 5 years while they went on to not only wipe out the Turks, but also the Armenians (my closest allies). Then of course they marched on Antioch, and they would no longer listen to reason and would continue to attack no matter how many of their men i slew. During the war i took Cyrpus from them, and constantly drove back every army they threw at the gates of Antioch. However, after a while it began to feel odd, no matter how many Romans i slew, thousands more were ready to attack. In the effort to keep up the war effort, my economy fell apart and the Romans continued to advance. Now, my question is, even with a little AI help, no nation should be able to do this in a M/M campaign. I have literally crushed 15-20 full stack armies and there are at least this many more on their way via Armenia. To make matters worse, i found out their capital was undefended save for the savage Emperor Manuel the Killer (10 dread 10 command) and i decided he had to die as a last act of defiance before Antioch and my entire northern defense crumbled. So i rose an army of 8 units in Cyprus and went by ship to the Bosporus to slay him, however when i besieged the city he spawned 1,500 men!!!! which if you ask me is a bit excessive for a garrison script. My final issue is no one seems to die of old age. I have a 94 year old family member, an 87 year old and an 86 year old, as well as MANY in their 60's and 70's. So can someone explain to me what the hell is going on in the Levant, because something clearly is not right... The romans should be out of men, my generals should be long dead by now, and men are spawning out of thin air to protect their demon king of Constantinople (for only a beast could have "the Killer" as an epitaph).

This always happens also in my campaigns, they just steam roll everything with their infinite stacks of doom, unless i play the Turks and manage to keep them in check, the thing is the turks need a lot of micromangement to be successful on the battlefield, and the AI is not very good at hit and run tactics, once anatolia fall they become overpowered, you still can keep them at bay by using bridges and choke points / forts, usually most of these stacks are levy

best way is to get 3 catapults and 2 ballistics.. equipped with a medium army (many levies and a couple of Knights) and a good general. Place the stack at all bridge openings and watch ur heroic victories go. While u hold the Romans off at Antioch, equip a stack with catapults and send it to the islands... u will have to exterminate them if u want to gain full control otherwise u will have to destroy every building inside and then let it revolt and kill the population. After taking the Islands, step raids on the coastal cities and castles.. Dont even try to defend them.. instead take it by surprise, demolish every single building and go back to the navy.

I was playing as the Abbasid after destroying Kingdom of Jerusalem... I went at war with them. I completely crippled their economy and raided Constantinople. Then, I started my push from Antioch and in just 20 turns the Romans lost almost two thirds of Anatolia until I called a Jihad and in 10 turns I captured Constantinople and then started to chase the Romans in Russia.

also, never auto-resolve unless u have 15 star general (yes I know it means u must have nocturnal trait and some retinues that give u bonuses). I usually do all battles since the romans start to send smaller groups after losing many stacks. These groups are experienced soldiers, but nothing a Heavy Cavalry charge cant solve.

These are all known issues. Use rusnmat's submod RBBR, fixes all the stack spam problems with the ERE and several other things. The age limit can easily be edited as well, if you search the forums someone posted how to do it.

As for the ERE and the KoJ being at each other, that is absolutely historical.

This right here. While the ERE and KOJ did have their breaks (I believe Raynald was responsible for that during this time), the crusaders never looked to the Eastern Romans as equals, and vice versa. As the crusaders, you should never try to reason with the Byzantines, especially when you have Antioch. In 2.3 that is really one of their primary targets, especially when the Rum Turks actually do stuff when your not playing them.

Also, the garrison script actually seems normal numerically wise, but the biggest issue is that most of the units are elite infantry and die-hard spearmen. While Constantinople's militia probably was that numerous, it took years and LOTS of money to train the units that appear from the garrison script. IMO, they shouldn't change the script except what units get scripted in. 1500 light spearmen with little to no training popping out of one of the most populus and sought out cities in the world? Very believable, and historical.

Well historically the issue was always more between the Romans and Antioch, not so much Jerusalem. Further more they were always open to negotiations with one another, for example Antioch became a vassal of Constantinople at one point, and in my current state i would LOVE to become a vassal just to remain alive haha. Thanks for the suggestion of RBBR, is there any chance that it is save game compatible?

edit: Also, yes, those infantry are terrifying. If they were weak, whatever, i have an elite army with King Baldwyn holding the walls. But they are tough, and as a result i take hundreds of casualties each time.
