Default RTR VII : Movies + Tutorials

In this thread, you can show your talent of movie-maker and strategist .

    ===================

    NOTE :

    - In order to activate the RTR main intro movie, go to RTW/RTRVII/Data/fmv and copy the 'RTRVII_intro'.
Then go to RTW/BI/Data/fmv and paste the RTR intro into that map.
Finally, delete the BI intro and then rename the RTR intro, calling it 'BI_Intro_640x480'. When you now launch the game, you'll see the RTR main intro appear.

    - In order to activate the RTR factions movie, remove the command -nm of shortcut.

    ===================

For people who want to make a video with movie_cam, here's how to proceed with this summary:

1 - In the Launcher (RTRVII) or the target of your shortcuts RTW, add the command -movie_cam and save

    2 - Prepare a "Custom Battle"

3 - When the battle is over, save it

4 - Be careful didn't have the graphics options to maximum or a very large number of units on the screen, to avoid a dramatic drop of FPS when capturing video.

    5 - Run FRAPS or Xfire (25fps or 29.97fps)

6 - Watch the replay of your battle to identify sequences of interest.

7 - Restart the replay and start setting up and moving the camera with the movie_cam

    8 - When you're done, press "S" to save.

9 - To make sure everything is correct, restart by pressing "R" + "L" + "Enter"

10 - Repeat step 9 and run with your video capture software.

11 - Just now edit your movie using a video editing software: Windows Movie Maker, Pinnacle Studio, Sony Vegas ...

12 - Select the scenes, add effects, transitions and music if necessary.

Great idea Nax! Hopefully we see some amazing vids soon. When I finish a few more scores, I might try my hand at movie making.

    Thanks for the information.

The nations trailers therefore do not work.

    Hi all

two questions. first, is there any way to record campaign battles, and be able to change angles, select units, etc...? i.e. interactive battle repetition.
another... how you guys find time to do all this great stuff? my hat is off to you!

Normally, if we remove the command -nm in the launcher or shortcut, you should be able to view the videos.
But I did not Rome TW on Steam ,so I can not help you more...

In campaign mode, it is not possible to save his battles.
We must therefore capture the video in live.

Just for that to place the camera on a unit 'friend' to break in the middle of an action scene and take action on the unit "enemy."

The angles of the camera limited, but with some video editing software, you can make some effects of zoom or tilt the image for example.

To give dynamism to the scene, we can do camera moves along an army in motion.
This is how I process when I started making video with games Total War and more precisely , M2TW in campaign mode.

I think that we've already explained that you can't 'win' RTR VII... the victory conditions are just there to alter AI behaviour in a more historical expansion pattern. Have fun, set your own goals or attempt to 'paint the map'. That's just the way we've made the mod.

    I missed that part .
In my opinion there should be a "end" for the game .
I have done in VH/VH with 3 nations and have completed the "acvievements" by 260´s bc .

Sorry, I was tired and a bit grumpy when I wrote that

I should probably include this in the FAQ. This is our stance, of course you're free to make your own submod with altered victory conditions and movies

Again, sorry, it's just that there have been people who kept complaining about that point. I can understand it from a new player's perspective, but like I said we use the VC's for balancing and imo the game ends when you've decided that you're done or want to move on to another game/faction.
