You seem to have a rather impressive movie quote thread going on down there hmm? What about one for books? I am sure some of you out there read books.

My absolute favorite(s) would have to come from Isle of Swords, by Thomas Wayne Batson, basically it's a pirate novel basically. So the Captain and his crew are discussing how to get to a legendary treasure basically, and a monk is with them, he is the one telling them of what this treasure is and how to get to it.

"We're going to need woven baskets- and rope." Captain Declan Ross grinned, "I know a man in Dominica. He'll get it for us."

"I don't suppose he has access to monkey pee does he?"

The room suddenly went very quiet.

The first time I read this, I literally laughed out loud. The spontaneous "I don't suppose he has access to monkey pee does he?" definitely caught me off-guard, and is one of the reasons I love the book, that I can't really ever tell what to expect exactly from him.

"So wait, are you telling me that you put fuses on your grain barrels?" Asked one of the crew to Jacques Saint Pierre.

"Oui mon ami! I put fuses in everything!" for emphasis, he showed the member his sleeve, which also had a fuse in it.

The entire last 3 pages of Excalibur by B.Cornwell, can't pick pieces out of it as it is all just too good, balled my eyes out the first 3 times I red it and it still brings a tear to the eye.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.

There's this line in 'Gates of Fire' that always strikes me. Alone, it doesn't really mean anything, but having read the text before it (basically describing the first day of the battle of Thermopylae in gruesome detail) and then having this line to finish off the chapter, I just found it quite powerful. It's basically one of the characters getting up and shouting at the Persians, "Not today you sons of whores! Not today!"

    Incredible book.
