VH campaign
M Battles
Why? I hate it if you sent the exact same unit against the ai and it gets bonuses to beat theout of it. But in Campaign the gets quite challenging, not smart, but challenging

No point playing battles any higher unless you like seeing peasant archers beat Varangian Guard in hand to hand![]()
VH/M and reasons above. :3
Campaign: H (I suck...)
Battles: H (means that I have to use flanking etc, but I wont have my DEK pwned by French peasants)

VH/VH usually. Sometimes I like M/VH because the diplomacy tends to make a bit more sense on medium.
M/H
I used to play VH/VH on vanilla, since that was rediciously easy, but since I only play mods, I go with M/H. VH/VH is actually very hard then. It's doable, but mostly I prefer to chill out a bit while playing.
M/M if I am trying out a faction and trying to get the hang of how they work or if I want to just have some fun beating up every other faction. Otherwise, I play around with the difficulty settings.
VH/VH
although I hate how the AI spams assassins on VH. I don't like my generals being paranoid from a failing assassination attempts.
I usually go for VH/VH, but sometimes if I wish for a more mellow campaign I go for H/VH.

VH / VH - do AI units get a boost on VH battles in vanilla?
