Aha, I see your problem

Instead of 'xxx' you should add your personal system data. For instance, I'd have to use this link:

C:/Program Files/Steam/...

I think that will solve your problem

Hey guys, beautiful mod and the first I have tried for any of the Total War series but I am having some issues.
1) When I first start a campaign in RTR VII all of the in game map menu functions will not work, like construction, recruitment etc, etc I can't even click and select a unit in a town. It will let me select an army outside a town and move it, and generally move around the map but that is about it. Now I have figured out, if I save the campaign immediately then load it everything works. But fixing this would be nice, I'm sure it's something on my end, didn't see any issues on this but I just skimmed the forum.
Also I have two other issues:
2) Battles are very choppy even at recommended settings and my rig is no slouch.
3) Have had several crashes while starting battles. Am I missing something?

Rig:
ASUS SLI motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz
8GB DDR2 800Mhz Memory
Two Nvidia 9600GTS 1GB SLI'd Video Cards

Have installed the RTW & BI from scratch with the 1.6 patch and the RTRVII patch 1a
Will try again, this time I will clean the registry before reinstall but any suggestions would be much appreciated...

Oh yea Mauritis, can you run the install wizard again without having to wait an hour for the mod to download again?

When you don't delete the download after having installed the game, you can just use it again as many times as you like

I'm sure that this is a corrupted install. Your rig is above average, you've got the correct patches so everything should work. I'd advise to delete VII, download it again from another mirror and then reinstall everything following the instructions. Then it should work

I have a problem with the patch 1a link. It doesn't allow me to download. All I get is this:

btw, I'm using Google Chrome and I've also tried on Firefox and IE but it doesn't work on both

I have a problem. After installing the RTRVII the luancher does not work. I have RTW Anthology, it is installed to C:\Games\RTW-Anthology. After installation the RTR created C:\Games\RTW-Anthology\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\ directory.

What did I wrong?

Ok, problem solved, game is running by a strange way. Is it normal that 4 season are displayed with only two type of icon. An icon can be the same for two turns.
Sorry for lame questiona but I did not played RTW with any mods since ~2006.

No problem mate. The four-turn-per-year script has been used to make the campaign more accurate from a realistic point of view, for we can't give armies more movement points due to some systems which would then stop working.

There's only a summer and a winter icon, though, which is why you'll see a 'summer' season of two turns and a 'winter' one of two turns.

Ok, I'll try to figure it out for you. Could you go to your 'Rome Total War' folder and make a screenshot of that complete page? When you upload it here we might be able to figure out the correct launch path.

Just one more question. Is there a manual that help to find infos about military units and buildings? After ~6 years absence maybe I'm the lame, but enemy kicks my ass in vh/vh difficulty settings. I even forget how can it be that a leader with management skill can strongly decrease the income of my city. Di I have to relearn the whole game?

It might be good to check the feature highlights, which explain a lot about the things RTR VII changed. Besides that, I'd advise to play at M/M

What does it mean M/M?

Can you kill the leader of enemy in the first battle? I attacked with ~100 cavarly with the only survivor but the leader did not die...

Medium/Medium difficulty settings. The first battle is supposed to be very hard, and a real challenge. The enemy generals will be difficult to kill, the best thing you can do is to attack them with spearmen or your own generals bodyguard.

Hey Mauritis, I don't really know how to take a screenshot, (I looked it up but nothing helped) so here is the info. it has on the top.
Computer > Local Disk (:C) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Rome Total War Gold
That's all I could do hope it helps.

When you direct the installer to that exact location and replace the ''>'' by ''/'' it should install
