Is this normal?

Do you use sli or crossfire?
Jesus was nailed at the cross, Thor has got a hammer. Any questions?
It sounds like you have this problem: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=469083
Also seb cubed, sli and crossfire are optional software for Nvidia cards right? I never knew how to use them, or even if I had them. Do they make a difference to the frame skip problem?
What did help for you? run it in xp mode?
Cause i get constant fps like 40-60 sometimes 30 or 25 when lots of orcs through my gates...
And just noticed that the stuttering only happens at real real big battles (could reduce textures and unit scale solve this?)
I also sometimes get litttle lag in undiscovered area's or area's far away on the campaign map...
I have ati Mobiltity RAdeon HD 4650 so no nvidea stuff with it...
and intel Centrino 2 P8700 (2 cores)
Thanks

1. Earn a money
2. Get a better PC
3. ???
4. Profit!
Maybe I got ripped off but for $2000 I got this:
3.4Ghz Intel Core i7-2600K 8MB Cache Quad-Core
ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 REV 3.0 (Intel P67, 2xPCI-E, 8xSATA, 4xDDR3)
16GB (4GBx4) PC3 10666 DDR3 1333Mhz Memory
128GB Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 SATA3 SSD
1536MB GeForce GTX 580 GDDR5 PCI-E Dual-DVI (Major Brand)
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm CPU Fan/Heatsink
And I'm still having the exact issue-frame skip only when large number of units begin fighting. Did I get jipped? What upgrades do you recommend? Also did you even read the link I posted before assuming whatever we said is a bunch of nooby-idiot-self-inflicted-nonsense that's not worth your time?
Or maybe I misunderstood your attitude.
EDIT: also Jepp nothing I tried worked yet, but then again I kinda gave up a while ago after hearing the issue was with the video memory being too large. Check this thread, http://forums.cnet.com/7723-6122_102...message5175162, but again getting the Intel RST didn't make a noticeable difference either.
Reduced textures and other graphics settings will *NOT* help. I've tried playing on minimal settings, but huge unit size, and no difference. Reducing unit size will obviously decrease the number of soldiers who will engage at one time, and I've noticed it's the (numerous) units being engaged at one time that causes the frame skip.

This could give problems with very large numbers, M2TW doesn't like multi cores.3.4Ghz Intel Core i7-2600K 8MB Cache Quad-Cor
The ?? > profit part means it's a joke.Or maybe I misunderstood your attitude.
It basically is your processor, open up Taskmanager on the tab performance. During a battle pause and Alt + Tab to the Taskmanager and take a look a you processor usage (better yet, take a screenshot) you will very likely see that only 1 thread is used out of your 4 or 8 threads (don't know if your processor is hyperthreaded)
I sure wish Windows 8 will fix this problem by enabling the user to emulate a single core processor.

Windows 8, release date up yet? i think its still future...
Yes but when i decrease units size it has less lags (also on lower resolution and lower ...) but the small lags only happen whit big size battles... i guess, and its not really that notice able with me... (except if u zoom in real close) (i guess many people have it but just play while using it...)
Is the frameskip so notice-able at your game?
Decreasing the units needs a new campaignnow i have to start over

Ahh I see, thanks for clarifying. I did check the CPU usage and of course 1 was maxed out. But in another thread I think StealthFox mentioned he had a pretty decent rig as well, and the problem didn't happen to him. It's in the first link I posted.
@jepp, the frame skip is only debilitating when I have full stacks vs each other. Smaller skirmishes are fine. I blame technology.
Let me know when u know how to fix it!!!
What u do now until its fixed?
strange that only we have probs with it?
Yeah most people don't have this problem apparently...
Can you give me your system specs or dxdiag? Maybe we can isolate a common hardware/software we both have and see if that might be the cause. I've asked pretty much everywhere: here, M2TW tech support, CNET, Yahoo Answers, Steam forums... everywhere short of emailing CA itself since the problem could be related to mods adding more detailed textures.
Do you notice improved performance, or at least reduced stutter when playing vanilla M2TW?
