    hi Blur,
    I am a rather experienced modder & I have made Venice closer to what you suggest
    in this proposal
    in my two mods located here
    Claimants, Heirs, and Conquerors (ChC)
    but I would love to do a mod which covers only Northern Italy & part of Western France
    with a limited amount of factions
    let say they would be

    French:
    Le` Comte` Burgun`( burgundy)
    Le` Duchie` De Savoy
    Italian:
    Venice
    Genova (or some simile)
    Milan (or some simile)
    Florence
    Pisa
    the Vatican Offices

    what ya think?

    I'm Sure there would be a big fan-base if you did start it, the Italian city-state conflicts sounded like they would be fun to play.

    Small factions are easy to manage, and if most factions were small it would be even more fun.

    I Hope your idea comes to fruition!

    thanks for the support.Druvatar, I want to do a mod focused on Venice, not with all italy.If I finnish this mod , i think i will work at your idea.First reskin coming today,dunno why i slept too much..

    Uhm..i did the texture, i will put the new coa later on this texture but i can't actualy get it in the game..

    anyone can help me?
    I did put the .texture in the en_peasants_padded folder with the same name.

    Well if you want to make a mod with a focus on Venice there's in my opinion two options regarding the map:
    #1: Only northern Italy with a direct focus on the city of Venice, regardless of most/all of it's territories on the dalmatian coast.
    Possible map:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    #2: Whole south-eastern europe, featuring Venice's biggest enemies: the Byzantines, the Ottomans (later of course), the HRE/Austria and of course the other italian states, though this conflict will be in a smaller dimension than in the first scenario.

    Of course the 2nd one is a lot more work, but I think it would also be a lot cooler and more popular.

    2nd one will be included in later versions...but for V.1 i will let the vanilla map and add cities and castles(lot's of them).

    as for the second version, there is Tsardoms total war, which starts in 1356, and covers all of Balkans, part of Italy and Anatolia
    it will have Venice as well

    thanks, i will edit it to make the faction symbol more realistic...don't think all vanilla factions will have the same,old,lq faction symbols..

    I'm not trolling mate, but if you want to really want an historical accurate Venice mod, then you should start with a custom settlement of the Canal City. The best suggestion I could give is you provide this type of settlement in a submod, other mod, etc. There's other mods around who aim accuracy and that will be interested of a reworked Venice
