    Is there a list of acceptable triggers and conditions for traits anywhere please?

    I'm assuming you mean events and conditions but either way what you're after are the docudemons. If you click the tool/tutorial link in my sig and look at my traits/ancillaries tutorials there's a link at the top of that to the docudemons.

    Have been using
    Condition GovernorInResidence, however the trait goes to ALL familly/generals in settlement at time of trigger, the same as using
    Condition IsGeneral. Is this right?

    Yes, but ended in settlement movementpoints =100 is a more workable trigger. Add a governer trait to differenitate between the governer and the generals, ie good farmer/miner/trader/taxman
