    Default 6.1 Campaign Stories

    Hello,
Please post your current empires and campaign stories here. It can be as long or as short as you want! I'll post my screenshot once I get these screenshots working. I'm having some trouble. Remember, only SPQR 6.1.

I currently am on M/M with Garrison and 4tpy script on and have the starting Roman cities as well as Syracuse, Lilybaeum, Mediolanium, Sparta, and Corinth, captured in that order. I have three very experienced legions defending the north border preparing to take Massilia (not Patavium yet) and two green legions trying to take Thermon so I don't have to send reinforcement Principes and Triarii from Italy to Greece. My spy in Greece has more than halved the populations of Macedon (my ally) and Greece (enemy) with plague. A 10 subterfuge assassin in Cisalpine Gaul has nearly killed off all of the Gallic family members while a 5 subterfuge assassin is doing the same in Greece. Since I have over 350000 denari and making 15000 a turn I will make two legions, one north and one to be sent to Greece. I plan on taking Massilia with one of my most experienced legions and using to green legion as backup. In Greece I will finish taking Thermon and then weaken Athens a bit with plague and finally take the city. By then I will finish off the Greek Cities and bask in the gold. I will probably have to destroy Macedon at that point so I'll use my newfound money (and hopefully by then my Post-Marius leigons) and take Patavium and the cities in Illyria and basically attack from two sides. I'm becoming fearful of Gaul because the only reason they haven't overwhelmed me is because Germania and Macedon are keeping them busy. The Gauls have take most of Spain and Carthage is still their ally. I've gotten a ceasefire from Carthage which has pretty much died because of African Rebels. Finally, I'm going to try and destroy Gaul completely using spies and my assassin instead of facing their hordes (and many large battles).

I can't wait until Marius comes. I need better heavy infantry!

Well it was like 240BC when I posted that. It's now something like 220BC and I hit Marian Reforms. I took all of Greece, Kydonia, Rhodes, and most of Macedon.

in my 6.1 M/M game i am playing as romans as well. i started to attack gual in northern italy with my northern legion under command of Quintus Julius while his brother Vibius Julius sailed to sardina i think its called. vidius moved on to Palma soon after and Quintus took northern italy. once i had a couple more legions i poored through the mountains descending on Gallic territories. the Macedons declared war so i left Quintus to defend Patavium. Vibius sailed from Palma to attack a carthagian city in Iberia but now moved north into gaul to releave some pressure on the invading legions to the east. in a short time i took southern gaul, i started to push north with most of my legions and south into Iberia once more with only one legion who would only attack gallic controlled regions. in the Gallic conquest, Quintus lost his father Julius Flavius, his brother, Lucius Julius and his son Amulius Julius. at this point i have all of gaul apart from Teir and the settlement north of Patavium. ive advanced into macedonian and taken Larrisa, Appollonia, segesta, and a couple more that i forget the name, i control the macedons west coast and in doing so have secured my economy. i am about to finish off macedonia and have legions prepared to preform a quick take over of greece if in fact war should break out. im probably ganna start the war myself because i need that flank secure. thrace and dacia are gone, killed my the germans and now i too am at war with them! they have a large empire and i fear that their numerous full stake armies of triple silver chevron chosen axemen, will be too much for my principies. i am currently sending a diplomat to scythia to propose a joint effort against germany but i fear they wont answer me! i am at war on all fronts, iberia gmerania, greece. there is no safe spot for my legions to rest and now i fear the germans. they are the only faction that scares me because of their size and power. any advice with the germans?

Well, as the Numidians--I easily subdued Carthage in under 20 years of warfare against them. When I was done conquering the whole of western africa. I then focused my attention to the further conquest of the Egyptian homelands. The conquest started at 259B.C. I started conquering barka to Cyprus. By the time I conquered Cyprus I had the upperhand against the Egyptians. I planned to conquer the 3 major cities of Egypt with haste. So I trained 5 armies that has a total of 16,000 soldiers. By the time I reached the outskirts of Alexandria--the Egytians fielded segmented armies that contained more than 3000-6000 soldiers. What surprised me is--despite my massive numbers and the quality of my soldiers--They inflicted massive casualties to my numbers that by the end out of my 5 armies only 2 remained and Egypt still has alot to sacrifice. I was forced to send in more reinforcements and by 210B.C the Egyptians have completely fallen. In total, I sent more than 8 armies that is composed of more than 20,000 soldiers against the Egyptians that only fielded less than 10,000(their armies were always segmented). But my casualties was staggering--by the time we conquered the 3 major cities of Egypt. I've lost 12,000 of my whole army and of course, the entire Egyptian army was entirely annihilated. So far, this has been the costliest war ive ever won in my Numidian campaigns. Anyway, although I have subdued the Egyptians, my Empire is still in chaos--every turn a rebellion will always occur in one of my cities. I am planning to stabilize my Empire first before I start the conquest for Parthia.

P.S. I will post pictures later.

The year is 261 and I am using 4tpy. All starting cities in italy all of sicily and corsica are mine and the baelerics are not far off. Samnites are no more I was tired and thought I might try my luck autocalc and I won with only 600 casualties I did the same with Gladiators and about the same casualties.Macedon is gone,Dacia is gone, and Seleucid Empire is gone.Thrace is on the ropes.Greece is Huge they own up to segestica and Germania is also huge they are next to each other. My plan is to push north taking Cis-apine then at th same send 4 or 5 legions to spain to take as much of the coast as I can. This operation will take about five-ten turns because I am pretty broke at the moment but it is semi-self inflicted because I had around 150 grand and all my super management family members got ,gourmand ,extravigant ,connoiseur trates and they all lost alot of management. Is there any way to avoid these horrible traits the worst character I saw had -6 management. what I did was train generals change over retinues and make family members field commanders and generals goveners.

all I can say is I can't wait till reforms.

well, this is really weird, because ive NEVER seen or heard of this happening. Greece thrace, adn daci eliminated macedon, and then germany and armenia became allies, fought scythia untill they came into contact, then declared war on eachother. germany is being fought back by dacia, and im rome, eliminating greece. the spanish rebels anually SACK corduba, and then, like, abandon it. Egypt is fighting thrace in anatolia, and parthia is all but dead. armenia is huge. scythia has like 5 sotne wall cities, becuase tehy took them back form armenia and the cities are literally going a back and forth between germany, anrmenia, and scythia. this is wierd. o ya, and theres a random dacian army in western gaul.

Interesting, can you provide us a screenshot of your current campaign map? I want to see what weird stuff happened to your campaign. lol

Anyway, I started a new campaign(as Pontus) and it was very hard at the beginning. I was at war to all the factions around me--Greeks, Parthia, Armenia, Seleucid Empire. I lost all my settlements except Sinope and Antaxarta. Then--the weird stuff happened--a massive Seleucid and Parthian army approached my remaining settlements then instead of attacking it--they moved to towards their allied settlements and attacked it instead. These 4 allied factions suddenly fought each other until they got weaker--when my economy recovered several years later--I sent an army to recapture a Seleucid settlement near Sinope and within a few turns I conquered it--I then steamrolled The Seleucid Empire and thanks to them--I have reached a sufficient amount of denari to create another army and thanks to this army--I managed to subjugate Armenia--many years later--I conquered almost all of Seleucid Empire, some parts of Armenia and I am now slowly absorbing the Parthian Empire.

To make a screenshot, press the button on your keyboard labeled Prt Scrn. It is next to scroll lock. It is to the right of F12 on the same row.
Once you have pressed the Print Screen button using paint paste the image, then save it preferble as a JPEG to save space.
Alternativly use a screenshot utility such as Fraps and load it before you start RTW. It will include a frame rate counter so you can see what FPS you are getting. A good well to see if changing settings are actually working.
With "fraps" you just press a defined key and a screenshot is saved into the directory of your choice. The best thing about these applications is that you can save mutilply screenshots whereas pressing Print Screen twice will delete the first screenshot you saved alowing you only to paste the 2nd one onto paint, if that makes sensce?

Fraps significantly LOWERS frames per second while activate. So it really won't show you if your settings are working.

Didint know it did that, the only problems ive had with it are with Flight Simulator. Causes it to freeze and turn the AP off and stuff which is very annoying when on final approach!
Im doing ok at the minute. Quite annoyed at the A.I. of SPQR though. Arretium (sp) which is your capital to start with was besiged by the Gauls. Saw an SPQR army comming from the North, which i thought was to help me. Next turn a small Gaul Army went into the next square to the SPQR army which was a uber one btw. In panic i attacked it, to shoo them away thinking the SPQR army would help my besiged town. I attacked with a legion, which was going to take another Gaul settlement and the Gaul army retreats. But the SPQR army follows them leaving my to auto-calc the city battle suffering a clear defeat. I am now besieging Arretium and hopefully will get it back in the next turn.

While all this was going on i took Syracuse from the Greeks and was attacked by the Hannibal uber army. I always thought they were scripted to attack Messana early in the game, but they didnt so here he was attacking Syracuse.
saw him comming and bought some velties, hammerd his elephants and some men. Very long battle and just won it in the end. Not to mention the game error which allowed his horses to come into my city and wipe out some principes. I moved my men so they were between the gatehouse and the otherside, but the enemy took it! I was like WTF, must must have to have men on both gatehouse towers to keep it or something.
    Thanks.
