    Default Ze Equesterians

    So I recruited an equesterian in rome and fought with him around 8 fullstack battles. Meanwhile this senator (fought exactly the same battles, all of them were on autoresolve) progressed throu legatus on legatus legionis (they both were leaders of full stack). But the equesterian is still on his first rank he recieved after the first battle.

    Kay, this guy got Praefectus cohortis when assigned to stack. Next turn I sieged town, the turn after captured it and I see he "progressed" to tribunus -.-.

    The equestrian career ladder looks something like this, so you see that he did progress from Praefectus cohortis.....it's likely that the first equestrian you had was originally Praefectus cohortis without you noticing? Thanks for the feedback though, keep coming with any queries like that.

    In reality the progression to legatus will be made somewhat harder and the equestrian tree you see below will only be possible post Marian reforms.

    Firstly: 5 of 6 generals recruited are shy -.-.

    So after some more battling I got few equesterians to agens vice legati.

    Sextus spent 1 turn in settlement and his trait got switched to some procurator or something, after 1 turn outside the city it got switched back to vice legati.

    A patritian got his tribunus trait here, why im posting it is the barbarian spam of militia.

    Overall I think there is way too many traits the characters are getting quite quick after you get them.
    And many of those traits are with "no effect" or very very negligible effect, personally I would remoove those. I like the game polished and lucid, but thats my personal view.

    Just so you get the idea of the traits system.....with these equestrian characters once they reach that stage, if you put them in a settlement for long enough they will gradually rise through the procurator ranks with a gradually increasing chance of being adlected to the senate and then able to get senatorial positions.

    Have any of your characters received military decorations? e.g. corona civica, etc - see discussion about them in this thread around here (worth reading a bit before and after - we will get this information more organised at some stage) http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...442742&page=17

    How many units does need the general's unit to kill to get some decoration? Because Im not getting any, and I can't get from vice legati to praetorio either.

    To get the Praetorian prefect the character needs to be commmanding a Praetorian legion.

    No decorations at all for anyone? I wonder whether that condition is working then....there are certainly a number of those triggers that have never worked in RTW.

    Sextus spent 1 turn in settlement and his trait got switched to some procurator or something, after 1 turn outside the city it got switched back to vice legati.
    That's exactly as it should be.....he will only be procurator whilst in a settlement, but unless you want that character eventually to become a praetorian prefect, he's better taking the procuratorship with its chance of adlection into the senate and ultimately being able to gain a senatorial post and become a legatus.


    Here are the triggers for the various military decorations -as you can see, you're only likely to win decorations if you when the battle odds are worse than 1.5 and the general kills more than 6 units....but if it's not working we need to figure what exactly is causing problems.

    You will get 'zero' decorations auto-resolving, as the General will never get any credit for kills. That's why they aren't showing up.

    No, I did about 10 manually fought battles and still nothing, maybe its because I played this on small unit size, Ill try huge now.

    Well, if I understand correctly what you mean, yes, it would be the General's unit, not the General himself. And, as far as unit size, it could be that it's just harder for the General unit to kill 6 men than in a larger unit size.
