    Default Help with Paypal (fixed)

I am trying to log onto my paypal account and I get this message:

We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures. Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and you will now be taken through a series of identity verification pages.

Protecting the security of your PayPal account is our primary concern, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
    Bank Account Information
There are two boxes; one with my bank account name, and a box below where I input the full account number.

I input my bank number but it keeps telling me it's incorrect. I am worried they might freeze my account or something, and what one thing that struck is maybe I did a typo when I inputed my bank no. in the first place so now that I come to do it, it is telling me it is wrong.

    Any ideas?

    I'd call them...

Honestly I hate paypal, they are the most "ME ME ME" centric company out there, their support is poor, and their policies are sometimes harsh and unreasonable to sellers on ebay (like me).

It doesn't make sense that they'd need to randomly have you amoung other people enter your bank account information that they already have again. The moment I seen that I would have called them and dealt with their awful "support" rather than entering anything.

Yeah well, paypal is ebay now, so if it wont be getting any better. I like paypal at checkout, though.

I just did the math yesterday, and I sold all my old climbing gear on ebay and made $1000, but I ended up paying ebay/paypal almost $300 of that in fees. Everyone is jumping ship.

And not to be a dick, but if you get some poor bloke in India, and you cannot understand him, you can insist on being transfered to a US call center. Its a law that I had no idea about until my Indian uncle told me, interestingly enough. He doesn't see an issue with it and having been here for 40 years I guess he does it himself.

To me, that sounds a bit fishy - the sort of thing a phishing email/site would throw up. Be cautious.

It could still be a phishing site - I'd do a scan if I were you.

Did you check the address at the top in case your browser got hijacked? I logged into PayPal 2 minutes ago with none of that.

^ My first reaction too. Could it even be a a malware client-side script running on the real website? That just seems to be a bizarre way to authenticate things. Pay very close attention to your bank account

Indeed. It's my experience that these sites never, in any way, shape or form, ask for your personal financial details at the log in page.

No it was because I was trying to change my password but it wasn't accepting my bank number and kicked me out.
