Personally I always disable the flags in the graphics settings.

There is an option I miss: the possibility to see the radar map, and your own units, but not the enemy.

Bad news. I left last Sunday for a 3 weeks business trip. I took with me some tools and graphics on an external drive to work on uniforms during the long week end alone at the hotel with nothing to do. But my external drive died on me the first day... I've lost everything.
Don't worry, all my work is still safe at home, but it means 3 weeks with no work on NTW.
And 75% of my work related stuff is lost also...

But everything is relative! monday my taxi was hit by a truck which did not stop at the red light. Fortunately, no personal injury, just the car. But 2 meters more and maybe MoE would never have been finished

A harrowing escape! Maybe just take it easy - have a 3-week-holiday and leave MoE until you're safely back in France.

Since I still need to work with the Mexican customer every day, and also prepare for another project just after (and so redo everything I lost from my external drive), it caan hardly qualify as a vacation.
I'm getting too old for all this!

I saw some amazing work you've done beside NTW mods - all related to the Napoleonic period - I think there's one for the Civilisation or Cossack series?

Clearly you have one of the highest commitments than any other modders in the NTW forum. Age isn't a big issue - it's the passion that counts.

    I'm sure you will manage.

Yes, I did a mod for Civilization III, including some Napoleonic stuff, but this was mostly graphics made by Sandris. I did convert the Cossack units to Civilization III format.
But my biggest achievement with Civilization III was to create tools. First, a "storyboard builder", used to assemble the images rendered by unit artist into a format usable to generate Civilization III animation easily. I believe 95% of the thousands of unit animation made by fans for CivIII are using it.
I also programmed a completely new version of the editor, with many more option than the original one, to make it very user friendly and efficient.

And before that, I painted Napoleonic figurines... But I've almost completely stopped now I make the uniforms for NTW, Not enough time...
And also, during my young time, I wrote the rules for an Heroic Fantasy role playing game. It's still around on the internet (800 html pages, in French).

You need a crazy cowboy-cop character as your partner.

Hey Steph , just a line to say glad you are alright after your "adventures" and I guess the old saying that things could always be worse, still holds true !
Like you I started with painting Napoleonic figures when I got into modeling, and gaming was just an extension, or maybe the other way around, not sure. I can still remember playing the old "Fields of Glory" with my Amiga Computer, and then of course Cossacks II.

So I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to all the modders for games in General, and you in Particular for your work here on NTW.

p.s. I was reading through these pages about your mod and a grand campaign, am I correct that there isn't a working one yet ? or did I miss something. Maybe there is just downloads for France in GC ? I mean I do not mind waiting but since I never play Battle mode, there would be little sense to download for that option only.

Sirlion is working on the great campaign while I finish the Spanish/Portuguse uniforms. A first version should be fully playable very early next year, may be missing Netherlands and Ottomans, they should come a little later.
This will be a first version, and it's likely we release additional versions later with more ideas.

After two weeks spent training guys in Mexico City, then 3 days doing acceptance tests of my software, I made a quick jump to Panama.
And at least, I am at Tocumen airport in Panama City, ready to start the trip back to France via Madrid in two hours.
    Soon home !

Hello steph glad to hear that you're back from your trip! I was just wondering if you were planning to do something with the CAI and BAI for your mod.

CAI: Sirlion is working on it. BAI: already done by tweaking the parameters. And as a reminder, the BAI is NOT editable contrary to what some people try to make you believe. Editing the BAI would require access to the source code, it is not exposed. The only think we can do is modify some parameters like the effect of morale, bonus for cavalry vs infantry, etc. It can improve the flow and feeling of the battle, but it won't make the AI smarter.

Ahh I see... It truly is a shame that the AI never was given the amount of proper time and effort to make it seem as if the opponent you were fighting was a napoleonic era general. It would have been amazing if they somehow employed the Corp d'armee system into the game

My question is how this can play Polish? I saw that in the Masters of Europe enters the mod with the Polish units in battle but without the campaign is boring. I've tried with files startpos but replaced the Polish campaign and I chose to crash.

    Chasseur ŕ Cheval 1808

    And 1812

Line cavalry (same uniform early and late)

Details with a new Trefoil epaulette

Trumpeter. I couldn't find a good picture, so I made a generic trumpeter for the cavalry from the description I could get (red coat, yellow facing)

    LAncers

    Guard chevau leger

    Guard hussars

    General and escort

I've been busy at work, but with Christmas vacation, I'll try to finish Spain. Here is the cavalry of Joseph's Napoleon.

I'll try to finish artillery tomorrow.

    3 solutions:
    - Install MoE full, and play as Polish in custom battles.
    - Wait for next release in January, the campaign will be playable. But not with Poland, since the campaign start 1805 and Poland is not there. But if you play as France and "liberate" Poland (or occupy it), then you can recruit Polish troops there.
    - Use only the Polish pack to get the uniforms, and link them with another mod with playable Polish units.

And to finish with Spain, Joseph's artillery. After this, I just have to do the saddle cloth for these guys, and I'll move to Portugal.

    Howitzer 1808

    Foot artillery 1808

    Horse artillery 1808

    Howizter 1812

    Foot artillery 1812

    Horse artillery 1812

    Guard horse artillery

Excellent effort as always. Just in case you want to revise the trumpeter at some stage....
