    Default Graphics card question

Hello, so on this 16th i'm going to start downloading this from Steam and its also the day I ordering my new Radeon HD 6570 from Newegg. Its a major upgrade from my nvidia 8400gs but I was just a little curious about the fps and settings that other people with this card play at before I buy it .

A wee bit unrelated, but have you made sure your PC's power supply can handle a beefier card? I ask because I nearly forgot about this detail a few years back

Yes I'm just waiting to get paid so I can order it, I'm just worried because I don't know how well the game will go with the card

Use Shogun 2 Total War "Very High" settings,no AA, no SSAO, no HDR, no Soft Shadow and no Vigette.

[I guess] You might get FPS on campaign map around 30+ and battle map FPS around 30-40 when army march, zoomed out get decent smooth fps but zoomed in with soldiers are engagements is sometimes can slow down to 10-15 FPS but still playable and enjoyable. If FPS still worse, I recommend to reduce units detail down to "High" from "Ultra", might help boost FPS 4-5 FPS.

Comparison between "High" and "Ultra" units detail

-"high" will have less diversity than "Ultra" but still looks diversity individual person.
-"high" will have less animations "fighting" "death" "corpse" and over all animations than "Ultra" but still looks epic even on "high"
-"high" will shown less visual quality when zoom out, all units will more less details if zoom out far but still same quality when zoom in which is not make you feels loss quality in the game too much.
-"high" get more FPS! and nearly same as "Ultra"

I hope you enjoy the game! Dustindesrctin, welcome to Shogun 2 Total War I played Shogun 2 like 107 hours already and will be more like 200 hours in future
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.

My holy damn simple tactic; Strike First, Strike HARD and SHOW NO MERCY.

going to depend on resolution but a 6570 is essentiall the same as a 5570 and there extreme entry lvl, they are this generations version of your 8400gs

and to be completely blunt Integrated Graphics on AMD's new A series APUs are the same speed so essentially the 6570 is the same performance as Integrated bottom of the barrel performance this time around

\so its going to come down to resolution and game

Example Left 4 Dead 2 and any Source based game will run fine,

but other games and current games will run much slower
    http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphic...ks-GPU-sub-100

if your PSU has at least 1 6pin PCIE power cable you could possibly get up to a 6770

as during peak usage a 6770 will only use 85w of power 10 more then the PCIE slot will give maximum furmark extreme testing only bumps it to 112w

125w cpu + 125w gpu = 250w niether will ever be used to that extreme so even OEM 350w psu in DELL systems can handle a 5770 / 6770 (there the same gpu just rebranded to make OEMs happy)
