Game/Video Options

Every time I start the game, I have to go back into the game options and the video options and reset the aspects. For example, I have to go into game options every time and uncheck "restrict camera" and change the size of units. Also, I have to go into video options and change the textures, screen sizes, etc. Even though I click on Apply Changes, I ALWAYS have to go back and change them whenever I open the game. Can anyone help me solve this?

Oh, if it helps any, this happens for every form of M2TW that I have including vanilla, kingdoms expansions, and every different mod that I have installed.

If im correct it's because in MAIN game you have them set that way. So in order to sort it out go start Medieval 2 without any mod and change settings there. If im correct should do the trick.

1. - You might have set your medieval CFG file to read-only at some stage. Under regular circumstances every time you change your options, that decision will be transferred to the CFG file.
2. - The other reason would be that the CFG file of your mod has these settings, but you are saying that you have this problem with every game, including the base versions.
Fix: delete the CFG file in the game's main directory (C:\...\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.preference.cfg)
Stop panicking, make a back up if you want. The game generates a new file with the generic settings. You will have to redo all your settings one more time, but now they should 'stick' (unless point two applies).
