CTD during first battle with Hannibal

I get a CTD everytime I fight the first battle playing as Rome against Hannibal on the campaign. It happens half way through the battle.

I play on RTW 1.5
Windows 7

CTD's in battle are almost always caused by the graphics settings. So first what are you playing at (vegetation details, unit size etc), in particular the vegetation uses a huge number of sprites, and so long as you aren't playing at the lowest settings, try lowering them.
