Default Xerxes would have been proud I think.

So I have been playing as Carthage for about 6 weeks now on M/M. Its been the best/most frustrating one in the 6 months Ive been playing RSII. Working my way clockwise more or less from my capital I hit a dead end when the Romans got involved. It was so bad that I resorted to cheats until I had backed the Romans into a manegable corner. By that time all that was left was Sarmatia and Armenia. Sarmatia has remained cool with me despite not having the option to ally with them. I even sent stacks to aid them against Armenia when I saw Armenia was was taking territory from them in a northward stab right through their homeland.

So, after spending a few frustrating days battling the Romans and finally (by cheating, I know) backing them into a manageable corner I decided to take a gander at all the territories west of Rome that I had auto-managed mostly to Military. To my surprise I had stacks among stacks just chillin by their respective cities. This is on top of the stacks that I was aware of and moving east to deal with the Romans and Armenia. "Hooray!" I thought. All these armies just waiting to get moved to the front!

Then the reality sank in. At this time I was making close to 1 mill a turn even with the unnoticed stacks which is why I didnt bother to check my western cities. Even the rebels and pirates were all neutral towards me. I started moving those stacks south to the coast of Spain to await ships I was fervently building. My gawd that took a long time. I spent 6 hours sunday JUST moving the stacks to my staging point to Carthago City.

Here is the result after a few battles and mergings, most of the land stacks have generals and all of the sea based ones do. I forgot to take a SS of the staging area but before I had to merge units I had enough single ships to make a coloum 2 wide from Carthago city to the island just north of it.

Heres the horde at the last staging area before the final mach east (all the fleets pictured had full stacks and generals):

First time I encountered this thing. Was an interesting battle:

Now, this is on top of the dozens of stacks I have to the East of Italy already from fighting Rome.

I think if Sarmatia plays it cool with me I will end the game after I have conquered Armenia. Already completed the map objectives.

I'll update with more SS if I remember to .

PS, I think I broke the 250K cap in the script with my cheating. Before I turned ny attention west I was making about 1mil a turn??

As you've admitted to cheating then it's not really an Empire - just a fantasy world.

There should be no need to cheat on M/M.

You may as well modify the start positions to make your faction hold that many regions from the start. Getting that to work may have been more of a challenge to what you've done.

Some players modify the starting treasury to give them a huge amount. I guess the backgrond script needs to be turned off as otherwise that will keep reducing the treasury......

Can I ask a question? Why Xerxes? Isn't Xerxes Persian not Carthaginian?

Yes, Persian. Carthage never had an empire so large.

yeah... and Xerxes wasn't really a role model ;-)
but i guess he just referenced Xerxes cause the biggest army ever levied in those time was his army

anyway yes he'd be jealous ;-)
(but don't forget he had immortals)

Immortals would lose hands down to your average Iberian skirmisher unit.

Let's head this off at the pass, I'm not sure what the original post was supposed to show with a load of cheats to create a large empire anyway, but thread closed
