Family Tree.... Scratching My Head?!?!

Hello.............

Is it me or does the royal family just kinda "crap out" sometimes?

What I mean is all of a sudden absolutely no children being born........

Am I missing something?

Any info, clues, insight appreciated.

There is a ratio between the amount of regions you have and the amount of male relatives + generals you have. If you hire too many generals and/or adopt many and/or accept man of the hour events, your children will stop being born until the balance is restored.

I have that same problem, however my generals don't stop having kids, just the main royal line does, it's aggravating, because I've groomed the father of the next heir to be a great candidate and hopefully his son will be up to the task and turn after turn, nothing, yet my generals go and fill up the hell of that ratio ruining my chances, Princess out and about keep getting suitors that I know would've been a son, but no, that name that would've been his is now taken by some useless suitor who either has garbage traits or no traits.

Well if it makes you feel any better, historically dynasties died out all the time

Understood, it's just that there's no kids at all, not even adoption offers, which would be great, or rather there are adoption offers, but they always die if they have good traits before adoption is completed, of course the ones with the worst traits, Alcoholic, Disloyal, no command whatsoever, etc. can always be depended on for adoption... is there some kind of fix for that? Cause obviously I wouldn't adopt but the most worth candidate for my potential heir.

The Teutonic order are not a royal dynasty or family and as a result are not included with a family tree. If you want to give them one you can activate it with Teutonic Order's Royal Family

In Rome the family expanded as a family would.. and you ended up with more generals than you knew what to do with..

Try not to have too many family members at one time, and don't be afraid to get some generals killed, usually anyone I adopt or is not from the main family line I let them do the tough stuff or become cannon fodder. My main family is more administrative and if they participate in battle usually I have a militia army to back them up.

Also more territories means more family members.
