Most info is in the manual.

The most important things are the economic system of your nobles (do not let them go broke); Crusades and Jihads are going to ruin your nobles if your faction leader doesn't join fast enough; sooner, rather than later, only your War Council members will be able to recruit the good units; there will be a time when only your faction leader and heir can campaign in foreign territory (slowing down expansion); supply and morale system added (do not let your generals/armies run out of supplies); faction zeal can become an issue (you need high religious support to recruit the good stuff).

BGR4 makes the game harder. You will have less money, fewer high-quality troops, and blitzkrieg becomes a lot more difficult. You have to plan ahead to be successful.

Read the faction report. Read the faction report again (all important info about your faction and its leaders is in it, reading it carefully will mean you don't have to scroll through their profiles all the time to check on finances and supplies). I usually select one castle to be my main production center. The non-royal WC member will be stationed there and build priority is focused on military buildings (so I can train good troops asap). I use the FL and heir to fight (they will be your primary generals, make sure they have a decent command rating if you rely on melee a lot). Keep your armies small and use free-upkeep (disband everything you don't need). Plan your advance. You always have only one or two settlements to recruit strong units and you need high religious support so it's important to think which ones you're going to use to train units (or you have to move 'injured' units all the way back to your production center to get them back to full strength).

    Most importantly, have fun!

What I would like to add to Homeros` useful reply is:
You should focus heavily on cavalry. Simply, due to the BGR restraints, you will always be short on cash. Cavalry is overall more expensive to maintain, however, you can usually organize yourself so that you can defend 2, or even 3 of your settlements with 1 cavalry army (even less than a full stack is usually enough).
This is not something you can do with infantry,

I never understood how my nobles or generals went broke, my faction had well over 100k but every damn time my nobles would go broke, and all they did was sit in towns, it's not like I used them to go out and fight.

It says you can transfer the proffesional training staff and transfer supplies from the supply train, but how do you do this?

Join the two generals together into one army, the one with the training staff or supply train that you want to transfer. Click and hold while you drag the supply train or training staff to the other generals portrait. It will then transfer to the other general.

Moving them is as simple as clicking and dragging the ancillary's portrait onto the portrait of the character you want it to go to.

From memory, the transfer of supplies in the supply train takes a turn to take effect once you have transferred the ancillary from the supplying FM to the target FM.

I rarely have much use for the supply train as a result of the away from home penalties that start building up (troops weary/undisciplined, etc). Although I do use it some times if I want to use new FM immediately instead of waiting for them to acquire supplies.
