    Default AI respawn troops !!

    Hi Again
    In short : I was England and i was going to take Caernarvon of Wales
    I had 2 full army commanding by worthy generals, When i reached capital castle of Wales a huge army appeared there !! all bests of Wales army
    I'm really confused, I checked every strategic position with my spies
    Its just like AI respawned many troops
    like create_unit Caernarvon Saewtyer 4 !!! lol
    Can someone explain things for me, I'm going mad

    This is the garrison script, it is found in most mods and in some 'vanilla' Total War games.

    a very popular script in many mods out there
    it used to protect important cities for AI since they often abandon their cities rush to the front and many player try to make an easy way by take out their castle then finish off the rebel
    to be correct it "is" create_unit not "like"
    Empire II and Medieval III pls

    BTW it is not logical, Look we can consider this magical troops as garrisoned troops in a city or castle that should be limit i power and form specially in early era of game ( In S2TW garrisoned troops was limit) but it respawn an amazing well-balanced army with full power, This is not logical for me
    Thanks for your help i'm going to download non garrison script for my 4.2 version of mod

    I suggest you just think about it that your spy bring you some information(may be he with some whore and forgot to do his job after that he making up the information so he won't be fire) and you fall into a trap because you believe in him

    In Heroes, Hordes and Beyond you usually have 2 x 20 stacks roaming around the city then another 20 stack appears in the city and if its the last city and you take it, another 20 stack spawns and you just think to yourself, bankrupt much?!

    The reduced garrison script is good though, it is a lot more realistic to have levy spearmen and bowmen appear than dismounted chivalric knights.

    Maybe, but not in most cases.

    The average is 11 units for a major city, but can be higher for a capital, like London, but not 20 units.
    and if its the last city and you take it, another 20 stack spawns
    This is part of the re-emerging faction script and usually contains around 11 units, depending on the faction and will only fire if the King does not exist.
    The reduced garrison script is good though, it is a lot more realistic to have levy spearmen and bowmen appear than dismounted chivalric knights.
    More realistic, perhaps, but far less challenging to an experienced or good player.

    Also just so you know, the garrison script will only fire every 10 turns. This time allows you to put a settlement under siege and starve it out without another garrison army respawning. So if you say put Paris under siege on turn 10 an army will spawn to defend the city. However, for the next 10 turns no other armies will respawn if the city is attacked again. This gives you enough time to either take the city in the first siege battle or send additional armies to capture Paris. I hope this helps people to understand how the garrison script works a little better.
