    yes version 3 could do with some of the features seen in third age. Historical figures recieving a biography, an expanded retinue (for instance a damascus steel sword for spending a few turns in damascus, perhaps +5 to your generals guard damage), and many more historical buildings in certain settlements... with a wide array of interesting bonuses.

    +5???? Jesus what've you been drinking? Damascus steel was good but don't fall in the misconception that other people's steel was worth any less. For example the ore you could extract in Spain and Portugal was high quality enough. Also, you have ways to turn bad ore into good one. See the Japanese and Viking method of building swords. Damascus steel is as good as any other kind of high quality steel existent.

    whoa easy, i'm just saying that it was known for its quality and should give an ancillary. Make it +1 or +5 I don't care... more important is the history and reason for its fame, which should be communicated in the ancillary
