An invasion on Mordor controlled East Osgiliath? Seriously? Isn't that a bit like the Pope calling a crusade on the Papal States?
Has this happened to anyone else? Is it normal? I found it strange.

If Mordor has fallen from grace it is totally possible.
But hey, strange things happen. Recently in my campaign a invasion got called on... Bree.
An invasion on Bree is normal, happens i almost every campaign, and on E-Osgiliath Mordor controlled is normal too if they displeased sauron.
Mordor should be the pope. Or even better - there should be no pope at all. Mumaks in the middle of Eriador are just unrealistic and stupid
I agree, on top of it throwing up a lot of silly scenarios, it also is very imbalanced and breaks the flow of the game.(which if I am not mistaking is more a number of small team deathmatches (like, Gondor vs Mordor and Harad(or the other evil humans, tend to forgot which one is which))
I just do not see a good enough reason for it to be there, I get the idea, but it just does not work.
and we are talking about middle-earth, rigth? you know, the one with the inmortall elves, the flying dragons, the dwarves with blue bears that live under the mountains, the hobbits, the orcs, the bigger orcs, the orcs that ride wolves, the fire deamons, the trolls that are turn into stone when the sunligth reaches them, the talking animals, the living trees, the morphing creatures, the giant spiders, the magic rings that turns you invisible, the blades that glow when orcs are nearby, the humans that live like 400 years, the giant talking eagles, the wizards that were sent by the gods to eradicate evil, the nine inmortal wraiths that serve the freaking dark lord that lives in his tower of doom next to a massive volcano.... that middle earth?
....just checking.
Well said Maxi.
Personally even though yes Bree invasions are obnoxious, I think invasions make the game feel like there are actual evil allies working together. If there were no invasions the good factions would just be facing an evil faction 1v1 likely since the ai rarely goes across any of their allies borders for war UNLESS there is an invasion called or they are at war already.
You may simply remove Bree from the possible invasion targets (in descr_regions.txt) if you don't like it. Me personally I don't see it as problem... and as I usually play hotseat as singleplayer, Harad has no chance to get to Eriador, his invasion army gets destroyed by Gondor or by Rohan (I must say I have reduced the speed of crusading armies from 2.0 to 1.2)
