    Default Does the steam version of alexander work with the disk version of rome?

    Hello everyone. I noticed that the Alexander expansion was on steam, but before I buy it I would like to know if it will work with my disk copy of RTW. Does anyone know? Thanks!

    Just checked the steam page again:

    Notice: The Rome: Total War Alexander Expansion requires the Steam version of Rome: Total War Gold to purchase.

    Can't believe I missed that. Oh well, buying both is just $5 more. Sorry for bothering everyone.

    I have a related question as well;

    I have the RTW Gold edition from the disc installed on my PC(and 12 related Mods),but it doesnt include Alexander,only BI. so far so good.

    But now i want to install an Alexander Mod and thought of buying the RTW Complete version from Steam in order to install this particular Alexander Mod. Is this possible? ;My RTW Gold edition from the discs and a Steam installment of RTW both at the same time ?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Yeah, because your disk version is saved in the creative assembly folder (or whatever), while the steam version is saved in the steam folder. So you can have, and run, both at the same time with no conflicts.

    Works for me,I had both on steam but I bought a second version for mods.

    I had the steam one uninstalled for a bit but Alexander still worked with the GFW version.
