    I declare war, attack and win, my general I attacked with becomes disloyal. I don't get it.

    What do you mean by "disloyal"? Did the general rebel, or did he lose all his loyalty points?

    If it's the latter, you're likely playing with BGR and you're faction leader has ordered only he and his heir (being a member of the War Council) can attack armies in hostile territory. Check your faction leader's profile to find out more.
