Would this be considered cheating?
I like to know how a war turns out between AI vs AI. I like to turn the fog of war off and watch how the wars turn out and I like to see when a faction takes over rebel settlements. Would this be considered cheating? In my mind it isn't...

Is ignoring the red light with no live soul around a crime? Which answer (Yes/No) is correct?

Re: Would this be considered cheating?
I think that intention has a lot to do with it. I like to do this as well, but I do not consider it cheating if you are just seeing what the AI is up to and how they play. If, on the other hand, you use it to see what settlement to take or to see if there are any armies coming in to your land then I would consider it cheating.
Also I believe there is a whole thread that is already devoted to this. You might want to check that out as well.

I always think that fog of war removal is fine, simply because in real life the kingdoms would have spies and emissaries that would be able to tell them what was happening around the world. You shouldnt need to get within a mile of a city to know who controls it.

Re: Would this be considered cheating?
The fog of war has been discussed in another thread. I think it's fine to reveal the fog of war to see what factions are doing. One of the most interesting aspects of the game is simulation of the factions, and you should be able to see how the AI wars are being simulated.

It is cheating! The game has spies that are used to, er, spy... Yes it is interesting to turn FoW off and have a nose about, but, ultimately, it gives you an unfair advantage, and what with the AI being as it is, you really shouldn't need it!
