Quickest total conquer of the world?

70 years and I am done! Is that pretty fast?? 200bc, most all of my cities are green, I am on H/H by the way with not a lot of plauge or revolting at all. Playing XGM mod 3.6 of vanilla 1.5 as greece. Anyone do it faster?

I'm of the opinion that Themiskyra is untenable without cheating. I've garrisoned that city with 20 divisions and still not been able to hold it...

My quickest total conquer of the world was 188 BC with the Julii. It was my first game, so I believe it was on easy, so I guess that doesn't count. Usually, I wait for enemies to declare war on me though, preferring an economic type war. That never works, but I don't like getting overrun by 5 factions when I go to attack people.

1.0, E/E, Brutii, about 214BC. Was my first campaign...compare it to my current one, 1.3 Scipii, VH/H, with my own mod that allows generals to be recruited and divides by 4 all unit costs, upkeep and upgrades (generals cost twice what they would originally, though). Quite fun, 245BC, have 6 regions (Campania, all of Sicily and both Byzacium (Thapsus) and Africa (Carthage)).

In the XGM Themiskyra is not intended to be taken, it is used for scripting and other uses by the mod maker, I took it in about 230 BC and the game messed up so I loaded back, so in reality I have them all. In addition to keep people from taking Themiskyra he garrisoned it with amazons that have 55 attack, 55 defense and 15 hitpoints to make it near impossible to take, however I did it, took a full stack and the 200 amazons had 900 kills. But still...

this is from an RTR 6.0 campaign consisting of 195 regions ... i did it in 43 years (86 turns) ... i could have even went faster but i didnt try to do this from the start.

and this was on the hardest settings for RTR [VH/M]

Its amazing we both had about the same number of battles, with very close to the same number of wins and loses. Nice conquest!!

I like to take my time.
I was going to conquer the world as Macedon in RTR (I conquered half) and then I lost the save.

I prefer style over speed in this kind of games. In fact, I have never conquered the world in RTW. Closest was when I played as Seleudic Empire in vanilla (1.2?) with M/M but I too lost my save. That was because I forgot to take a backup before uninstalling the game. I don't remember the year I was on (around 180 BC I guess) but my empire had just got contact with Scipii near Lepcis Magna. I was also just about to attack Scythians after defeating Parthia. That was a fun campaign.

I remember there were too many mercenaries in one of the Earlier versions of RTR before it was patched up.
The former leader of it , Gaius Julius, managed to blitzkrieg the whole map in 14 years. I usually prefer Style vs Speed. To be honest, i've never conquered the whole map.

haha thats awesome..I can never seem to get that far, citys riot and all hell breaks loose after I capture like the 10th province.

Themiskyra didnt have any problems with, though that was the last province i got (as its so hard to reach) and i quit 2 turns after..

Once I actually complete a full campaign i'll get back to ya
I did manage to get like 90% through a short campaign (the capture 15 provinces one). I used the Julii. The my save game vanished, I dont know why, but I went to play like the next day and it was gone.

But the furthest I ever got in a imperial was with the Guals. I wiped out the britons and half of germania and totally destroyed the Julii

Well i was on course for a good time untill........i decided to download and install the Modding Legions Full pack v.1.3
Well to cut it short once installed the damn game wouldnt play at all!!!!!!The only thing that MAY have caused this was i had installed "easyclean" and cleaned out my registry.Any iseas on what might have caused this,i have had to reinstall both RTW and BI then get and install the 1.6 patch.Its just bloody irritating.
