    Default Board game

    First post..yeah!

So i've recently done reading all the books, those thats have been published of course...

And therefor searching for a media to dive into the whole world even more... Found the fantasy flight games have published quite a few board games and card games on the whole Westeros theme. Anyone can vouch for any of the games?

Seen they are due to publish a second edition of A game of Thrones, which sounds just about perfect for me, anyone played the first edition, any good?

Yeah, I've played it quite a few times

It's a fantastic game, but there is a major flaw in that after a while you'll see, if played properly, only Greyjoy and Baratheon win 90% of the time, and Lannister is especially vulnerable without good allies (though with my friends, we virtually always betray eachother ). You never wanna play with less than the maximum 5 players either.

Apparently this is balanced out by the rules and Martell faction added in the first expansion, but we haven't got around to purchasing that yet. But still, if you're in Westeros and you've got enough players, it's definitely worth buying.

EDIT: The 2nd edition seems like they've balanced the things I was talking about, sweet!

Perfect reply... Although was hoping to play it only three... But with the price 30$, and 2 edition balanced out might be worth a shot..

but thx for the quick reply, now just have to wait until they release it!

I love boardgames, so this is a winner for me. Trouble is, if you have too few geeks as friends and can't muster a 5 player game it's nowhere near as fun with just 3 people. I've never experienced a 5 player game, maybe we could get one set up via the forums (if its possible). I know someone tried to or made a digital version of the game using Photoshop.

    Anyway, well worth it.

Not so sure about the Collectable Card Game, never played any CCGs before, never really appealed to me. A good source for artwork and information though.

I remember playing MAgic once.. When it came out, or at least came to Denmark and everybody started to play it, but ever since, odd 15-20 yeards, i have never played any CCG..
It was through the webpage they had the price tag of 30$.. But with postal and so on might be a bit more expensive. And yes got the same problem, not enough geek friends.. And those i have are spread around the globe..

In regards to the Card game I've played it and found it to be pretty fun. You can play it with 2-4 players and thus you don't need a full 5-member team to enjoy it. The basis holds Lannister, Baratheon/Tyrell, Stark and Targaryen in one go.

    I can recommend that one.

Haha. Well first I forced the HBO show on her (we had to watch the first episode twice because she gave up the first time), then I got her to read GOT (now she is hooked and on SOS), and then we saw the card came core set in a Borders and to her lament I bought it and told her she had to play with me (she was nearly falling asleep as we read the rulebook). Either I am really bad or she is really good because we keep a score sheet and its something like 22 wins her to 10 me.

Now she is as hooked to ASOIAF series as me! Im happy I have someone IRL to talk about it to.
