Default One turn recruitment - fewer AI stacks?

Hi all, long time since I wrote here.

I am thinking of starting a new campaign but always grow tired of fighting 10+ battles each turn. So far I have only been playing with 0-turn recruitment and the AI seems to never run out of troops to throw at me. Will one-turn recruitment help me in this case?

It slows things down a bit. Still, if a faction is large enough and is quite successful, they should be having lots of stacks around still.

The reason why I stick to 1-turn is:
    * Slow recruitment rates down and prevent spamming of troops.
    * Less stacks to face every turn.
    * Because of the 2nd point, a loss, or a string of losses is a catastrophic event. Historically, that's how it was, with some groups caving in after 1 major defeat at a decisive battle.
    * Losses in a 1-turn game become more pronounced in mods that have auto-merging of surviving units in an army

Yes, the AI will do less stack spam and battles will be more decisive.

Just recently switched to 1 turn. It's much better this way, but still expect huge invasions. Just got invaded by 8 stacks from the Belgae. But even though battles are more decisive, it doesn't matter much in terms of diplomatic options, since the AI wouldn't even accept peace if you are down to his last settlement because of the hardcoded diplomacy in RTW.

Also expect your campaign to last much longer.

I doubt you reach the objectives - as in to conquer the entire map - before 650 A.U.C

Which is more realistic. Ending the game by 600ish a.u.c is way too soon (not to mention innacurate). Take for example the conquest of the Iberian Peninsula ( Hispania ). It took the romans 200 years to fully subjugate everything.

Been playing a Carthage campaign working clockwise and once I got near Italy and the Boi territories I spent 2 weeks fighting stack after stack of Roman units.

Well ,if you apply the "fewer stack" submod, the number of enemy stacks seem reduced.

Are the rebellions working properly for all you others using the "One Turn Campaigns" because I've been trying to play it as Rome and the first rebellion never triggers.

Mine worked properly, did you start your script, or is it 2.1?

Using 2.1a, and yes the script was started, But I tried it without 2.1a installed and it still didn't work.

You have to play "Rome One Turn", not "One Turn Campaigns" to have the rebellion.

I did not have this option. Checked the 2.1a patch files and found that it was present but not in the RSII folder their so I have done a more manual install of the 2.1a patch and I have Rome one turn campaign available and working now. Thanks for the help mate, plus rep.
