    Default Problems with my heir

I am currently playing as Spain and my king's son is listed as infertile, he is 21 and is married but of course is not producing any children. I have Plenty of other family members through adoption and marriages and their subsequent kids, so my question is: If my faction heir dies as king without producing any children of his own, will the faction also die out or will one of the other family members become king?

Normally one of the others will become king.

what you could do is remove the trait through the cheat console

I did that and gave him his wife every possible trait to improve fertility. And his brother is infertile too as well as their princess sister

I think he sensed that I was about to have him march alone into a battle he couldn't win in hopes of killing him because he just had a son.

Generally if the heir or king do not produce an offspring they will adopt one, you must remember that that is indeed a possibility, however, if said thing does not happen, the brother of the heir will become the heir once he becomes king. Your family won't die out just because your biological bloodline stops.

I must say that I'd much rather if people did not cheat in order to have a more successful game, try and fight and muscle through the difficulties instead of making your life as easy as pie, it makes a much more satisfying game.

If your king dies with no children, whichever family member has the highest authority ranking becomes king, if I'm not mistaken.

I always get the infertile traits for some of my family members, yet they always have kids! I never accept any adoptions or man of the hour events, so it may be that as I have lots of settlements and few family members, that the game decides they need to have kids sharpish
