Default What version should be used for the next Succession Cmpaign?

Ok I just wanted to have a clear poll to find out what the majority of players want to play.

NOTE: Only players of the succesion campaign should vote.

Only these 16 people on this list should be voting

    Aetius
    The Thracian
    Favre
    O'Brien the Protector
    Spartacus-Popat
    Carach
    eXc|Imperator
    Shadowarmy75
    westy159
    Kaidonni
    Demetrious II
    CerebralAssasain
    Heilige Legioen
    Socrates's Student
    NobleNick
    Somethindarker

    Open for 2 days.

Don't be a little ***** and vote if you are not a member of the succesion campaign. And even if you do we will subtract your vote from the poll.

    Aetius,

In your previous thread you lightly chided me for using your thread as an advertising venue. I plead, "Mia Culpa." I intended to just start a vanilla RTW 1.5 campaign over the weekend and invite anyone who wanted to play to join. Unfortunately I fried my computer on Sunday and for at least a couple of days can not play anything! Arrggghh!

Back on topic: I vote for anything in which a holder of ONLY vanilla RTW 1.5 can continue the compaign. *IF* that is what the group wants, then PLEASE sign me up!

If the group decides to go anther way, I intend to start a 1.5 succession campaign to satiate those 1.5 vanilla fans who might otherwise feel left out. My intent would be to complement, not compete with, campaign(s) you have running.

    Thank you!

EDIT: Oops! I thought, "players of succession campaigns," meant those who actually wanted to play a campaign. I didn't read far enough to see that there was an exclusive list of voters. Guess I must be that litte ****** you were talking about. Sorry, didn't mean to crash the party.

EDIT 2: Oh, I didn't see that it was a poll either (did you edit this whilst I was replying?); so I didn't vote.

You can start one if you want but you will need to be comitted to it. Anyone who wants to join you can. I have no objections with what you are doing.

Also DarkProphets vote doesn't count so the thread is tied at 1 so far.

I chose RTW 1.5 vanilla. Much nicer and original

I think it'll be me ruining the trend, I cant see how you make so much money without changing the descr_stat files.

Yeah, Aetius, I believe you. It would be nice to play succession and not have to do any work!

I think Terrae Expugnanadae and RTW 1.5 should be added together, They are practically the same except TE has better skins and a smarter AI.

I have backups so i can delete TE and play RTW easily, just count my vote as either or or TE or 1.5

Really? If so, then I could possibly get interested in TE. I've been stuck on 1.5 vanilla because I want to play the original game. Skins are no problem. And if the AI is improved, well, that is an area of the original game that is begging for an overhaul. How has the AI improved?

@ Aetius --> Please add me to your list. If the vote comes out to something I can't stomach puttting on my machine, then I can always politely bow out. Still haven't voted. If you add me, then I intend to vote for RTW 1.5. Thank you.

    From the TE read-me -
DarthsFormation Mod 12.0 included - seriously improves ai battle behaviour
You then might wonder "so what does this mean?". Well the Darthmods read-me gives the following information -

The internal formations of DarthMod use the new protective formations used by many melee units (Something like shield_wall) and also force AI to swap between modes.
Other mods do not have this so if someone plays with internal formations another mod he will see heavy units to prefer a loose formation which is undesirable.
Except from general tweaks there is also a major new attribute that I use to play with internal hard coded CA AI to force for example Hellenic phalanxes to hold their stance and cohesion than phalanx/unphalanx. Maniples to be more maneuverable, Macedonian cavalry to prefer wedge formation. And a combination of things that enhances too much the AI battle thinking.

These formations have a unique character for each faction something first done for Rome:Total War.
That means, each faction will use specific formation roles to fulfill its needs according to faction’s strength and weaknesses. No more randomness and irrelevant formation styles. You will witness an AI never seen before, which uses strategies taken from actual history of each culture. Each set of formation will swap between roles and according to circumstances, AI will use a variation to attack, defend, maneuver, turn, flank, retreat with extreme accuracy.

These formations are 100% combatible with original RTW:1.3/1.5. versions (Or simply play old campaign with version 1.6 = purchased BI). If any mod makes alterations to the factions used by RTW then it will not play.
    ............
Also Siege tactics are enhanced and different strategies will be used by Eastern, Barbarian, Greek and Roman cultures.
Bridge AI tactics are also enhanced to provide a crash of human forces from the start of the battle and also less fatality of generals.(updated 15/3/2006)

Human formations are enriched with adaptation of most of the above mentioned formations to the custom based formation of the game.
To use them select all or a proportion of your army, group them and select one of the special formations with efficiency. Special adjustments have been made to preserve the alt-click keep of formation.
For even more info read the whole read-me here

Also if anyone wonders, I have never played either TA or Darthmod.

People people do not pick SPQR please. The battles are so damn repetitive and the 4 turn per year script make this a very long mod to base a succession campaign on. It will take ages for your leader to die and poeple will loose interest.

Also RTR is based on 1.2 with the save/load bug. Need I say more?

Yeah, I am not a fan of the SPQR mod also. But remember that even though there are 5 votes only three out of those five count so TE and SPQR are tied.

You should think hard before you vote. I don't think it can be changed.
Anyone can see who votes. Just click the number of votes on the side and it will display the members who voted.

    So far

    TE has 3 votes
    SPQR has 3 votes
    RTR has 2 votes
    RTW 1.5 has 1 vote
