    Default a strange scotland

I was doing a campaign as the english and the danes gave me some map info. I found it strange that there was dark blue in Antwerp but then I use toggle_fow and look at what I found:

    I was very surprised.

Please don't bash me saying that I didn't defeat scotland yet, I'm a slow player. I don't like rushing.

I have 1 marriage alliance with them and I also have a regular aliance with them. Also, their diplomats didn't start doing that weird dance they do before their faction attacks.

In one of my campaigns they had Bruges and Antwerp! They must just get bored of being in the far North.

Aye, they tend to be rebel settlements in early game unless fingers are pulled out and theyre clobbered sharpish.

Scotland must've got bored and decided to toddle overseas to see whats what.

Naval invasions by the AI are not completely unheard of, especially if they have nowhere local to expand to. Most times when I play as England I expect to see a Portuguese prince turn up on the Irish or Welsh shores at an early stage. I've also seen Scotland arrive on the continent in a similar way, even later in the game. I'm slightly surprised they took Antwerp early in that picture, since it tends to have the Danes and HRE running up to it.

This actually happens quite often with Scotland and England, the two main battlegrounds between the two are York and Antwerp. Scotland usually takes both Bruges and Antwerp in my campaigns, and sometimes, they even take over Caen, Paris and Rheims. It depends on a lot of things... But this isn't unheard of nor is it rare.

yeah, it happens often enough. usually when I'm playing France, HRE, Denmark, etc I find myself pushing back random Scot invasions onto Bruges/Antwerp.

It is quite common for Scotland to take antwerp and the regions near it.

Aye its odd. People seem to have Scotland trundling around overseas in their campaigns. Never happened to me. All I've seen them do is stay put and wobble about deciding whether or not to go over to Ireland, which they never do.

Scotland often decides on taking either Ireland, Dutchland or Scandinavia - in all cases they take on or two regions in the area (only one in Ireland, of course)
But I´ve never seem them expand by more than two regions, and that´s usually Inverness + Antwerp OR Oslo OR Dublin.
I cannot remember ever seeing them expand anymore than that, at least not when the AI gets to choose...

I have never seen Scotland expand into Europe ever. They sometimes wipe out England when I'm playing as someone OTHER than England but this is quite funny. I only ever play on the hardest settings so is that why? seems strange usually it's the hard settings where the AI do some cool stuff.

They are looking for better food and are willing to resort to war to get it. If you ever tried haggis, you'd understand...

Now Scotland took over Oslo. I have a very solid 3-way alliance with them and Denmark.
