Default Any News on EB v1.3?

Wasn't there a 1.3 version of EB planned iirc? If so, I have some requests. Requests?! Insolence? No, only mere requests. Nothing more, but also something less (like wishes wearing a cape of request). Sure, I could say ideas, suggestions or the like, but in the end it boils down to being some kind of request - so why not call a spade a spade?!...

    - official fixes for v1.2 (a given)
    - use of RTW-BI.exe (at least optional when installing; as somewhat better AI and more naval invasions)
    - night battles
    - force diplomacy (not to cheat, but to mend broken diplomacy on vh difficulty; and even help the AI)
    - nerfing of light_spear base attack value
    - RS environments (gorgeous battle maps and snowbound strat map areas are better than vanilla version)
    - in game names and EDU names correspond in all cases
    - the 'New Quotes for EB'
    - the 'Eastern Hellenic Portrait Pack'
    - the 'New Historical Battles Mod'
    - selection of battle AIs (as the 'AI Battle Formation Mods')
    - a snoopy faction (as seen here)
    - a few new loading screens

Phew... finished. Now you can cut my head off and grind my bones to make your bread. Salute!

I could imagine saying that I really like EB and it's my favourite mod atm, sounds like manipulatory flattery - but it's not. I do like EB (very much so) and it is my favourite mod.

PS: I'm aware that some submods have some or a good load of these requests/wishes implemented, but they are far from perfect and not exactly bug-free.

I think the team doesn't work on EB 1 anymore, since they're making EB 2.

There's was some talk about EB 1.3 being released before EB2, IIRC.

As stated before 1.3 has little priority, 1.2+fixes is stable enough, the few flukes, glitches and only one major problem are not 'enough' to have the team work concentrated on this side project. It will be released in time.

To make this absolutely clear: EB 1.3 will have no (nada, zero, nothing) new content, it will only be a totally fixed EB1.2 (both external known problems and internal found stuff). Thus your list sounds like a nice EB1.3 mini-mod compilation to me, one that you have to make by yourself

That's more or less my newly done installation of EB, without nightbattles and the snoopy faction though.
Luckily jirysys is working on his mega mod pack (with even more submods included and all of them optional when installing), as I have no idea how to do any real modding other than toying around with some of the txt-files.
Wonder if it's going to be done before EBII's release, as EB will then receive the status of a mod classic (that I only take out for a ride on dry and sunny summer day).

Don't forget those of us who'll still have to play it on and offline since we don't own M2TW.

And do not forget that we probably reached "peak EB" when 1.2 was released. Why? Well, the RTW battlefield engine is better than the MTW2 equivalent. This is as good as it gets.

I have to say that I kind of agree with this one, to a degree anyway. I've bought every Total War since RTW, and for me, every one of them is worse than RTW. They all are good games, but RTW has always been, is currently, and I think will always be my personal favourite in the TW family (and EB is my favourite mod for my favourite TW game ).

M2TW is probably the worst in the series IMO, but it isn't in any way a bad game either, and I'd probably spend my time playing it if there were no other TW games available. However, the things I dislike the most in M2 are the castle/city system, the odd-looking soldier models (seriously, their body proportions make them look like children) and the sluggish battle animations compared to RTW (the "underwater battle simulator" comment in a certain other thread made me laugh so hard ). But fortunately (for me at least), EB2 seems to replace the first with something more reasonable, the second issue is completely done away by introducing those gorgeous models the team has made/is making, and I also believe that the EB team can do something about the third one as well (new battle animations, different stat system than in vanilla M2, etc.). So to sum up, even though I've never liked M2 as much as RTW, I believe that it provides the EB team a good base for a great mod. So yes, I'm excited about EB2, even though I'll probably never stop playing the original EB1 for RTW .

I want to ask something regarding this, but first I'll have to make clear that I mean absolutely no offence whatsoever to you or any other person reading this. So apologies if I sound like a total jerk asking this, for that is not my intention .

And the question comes here: what stops you from buying yourself a copy of M2TW? I mean, it's not a new game or anything, and should run fine even on older computers (mine was bought in 2006 and wasn't among the most powerful of computers even back then; even many laptops of that era can run M2, or at least a friend of mine plays it that way). And the game itself should also be readily available, both in online stores as well as a box version (or it still is where I live, don't know about US though). And it only costs about 10 to 15 €uros (and that equals, what, 15 to 20 Dollars?). Of course, I am no-one to tell other people what they should use their money for, and I apologize once more if this post sounds rude; no offence was intended while writing this .
