hey guys, i'm new in town and i'm in need of a hand
i'm trying to install Cow, but unfortunately the "easy and pain free" installer is highly painful, it gets to about 2% then says the file "mods\call_of_warhammer\data\fmv\event\First_Crusader.bik" is corrupt or unreadable , so instead i tried the bit torrent and that can't install due to some file or another being corrupted, now im not a total n00b, i have downloaded mods before (TATW, EB and FATW), (there are some traces of noobiness that still pollute me), but this mod looks un freakin real so im desperately trying to get it working, cheers for any help guys, i made an account specifically to ask this question (i know im a forum stalker, shoot me)
but yeah, im rambling, just any help would go a loooong way
    cheers guys

P.S. i did search, long and hard for another similar tread, but i couldnt find any, so dont get angry if it is a repost

EDIT: i think i fixed it by using 7zip instead of winzip to unpack the torrent, it helped, thanks for all comments

I have downloaded Gigantus version with the torrent from pirate bay today, without problem. Maybe you should try again ?

You like EPIC battles ? watch Diadok's Gallery, play Epic Late Campaign for TATW 2.1

Did you download the files for the painless installer from both sites? (Mega upload and rapidshare or something)

I did, and had similar problems. The files from one site have different names then the files of the other site. In one of the two sites all spaces are replaced with a _. If you did download it from the two sites, replace all spaces with _ so the names match up and it should work

AAAAAALSOOOOOOOOOOOO, with installation, do you need all kingdoms campaigns installed or just one?

One campaign is sufficient as that will already install the required kingdoms.exe

I think your issue is something other than the mod itself. There is something screwed with the install. My suggestion is to install gig's COW version into a dummy directory such as c:\cow and then copy it over to the right place. On mine, it is c:program files (x86)/sega/medieval II total war/mods/

If all works well, you are finished with ever having to reinstalling anything again. If there are problems, just copy over COW from your dummy directory.

I'm having this exact same issue. Part 1 of the installer gets to 2% and then gives me a "File is corrupt: mods\Rage_of_dark_Gods\data\fmv\event\First_Crusader.bik"
I tried a dummy directory on my desktop and still no go. Part 2 and 3 also do the same thing, but at different points (23% Slaanesh_Maurader.texture for Part 2, 4% Music.dat for Part 3)

Where did you download from? Have you got all parts in one directory?

I downloaded a three part exe from here: http://www.infracta.de/wbb/forum/ind...baseItem&id=25

They are all in the same directory. I tried installing them on a different PC but instead of giving me an error it asked for "Disk 2" when it reached the respective file that caused the errors on my other comp.

That would then be the 'Rage of dark Gods' version.
But the total number of files should be 14! 3 * EXE files and 11 * DO files

The DO files install automatically, just make sure they are all in the same directory.

Thank you so much for the clarification. I was under the impression that the DO files were involved with torrents.
