But seriously I've never had this problem. I almost never have princesses running around in the late game. They are always marrying someone very quickly.

I've never encountered this problem, the problem is you're probably trying to marry them to their brothers or something, try to find some distant cousin or an adopted cousin/brother and see what happens.
