    Default A Long Wait

I'm guessing most members of this forum played RTW on the day they bought it, not me. Why you ask...simply because my old PC did not have the RAM to do it. I got RTW as a christmas present in 2004 and had to wait to the summer of 2005 before I could actually play the game when my brother got his PC which is flat-screen and up-to-date unlike my piece of crap! I read the manual on Christmas Day instead for a while (not the whole day in case you think I'm

Maybe it's just me feeling sorry for myself because the wait wasn't too bad when you've got other masterpieces such as Final Fantasy X and Metal Gear Solid in your collection of PS2 and Gamecube games. The main problem I had was that every time I watched Time Commanders on BBC2 I just wanted to play RTW and couldn't. My brother played it first (I didn't want too because I knew I would become hooked).

When I did I couldn't stop playing for 3 weeks!

Well, I think your case is not so bad... I have bought Never Winter Night two years ago and I started the game only after I bought a new computer this year... sad for that!

Less than what's needed which I think is 256 RAM but to be perfectly honest the whole machine was total rubbish. Funny isn't it how a computer bought in 1998 is considered ancient less than a decade later, guess that's life.

I also got RTW for Christmas in 2004. Battle for Middle Earth was bought later, at a Best Buy in the Middle of F-ing Nowhere, USA, like 4 days later (using my Best Buy card I got for Christmas). I finished Battle for Middle Earth relatively quickly, but I have to say I've never been able to get tired of Rome. It's the best game I've ever seen.

Anyway, my computer has 512 mb of RAM and sometimes I have problems running it as well. It doesn't recommend my computer use higher graphics settings, and I got this thing right before I went to college in August 2003. If my computer is becoming obsolete...I can't even imagine a 1998 computer.

I had a similar problem. I only had 256 MB of RAM and could only play Rome with the small unit setting (not how it is ment to be played). But atleast I got to play it for a couple of months while I got more RAM, You have a lot of patience CKerr.

I have to thank my other games for keeping me occupied, such as Metal Gear Solid, Pro Evo Soccer (managment out soon by the way) and of course some great movies out around may last year including the simply superb Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge Of The Sith!
