Some more bits of the map. This time some islands. There will be many more islands than in the initial map version, all with much more detail. The sea texture is not done yet so that will look different as for now it's just solid navy blue texture. I'm showing here things with fog of war (again) as I want to keep some details for laters.

New Campaign Features
There are other map areas being developed and some in advanced stages of completion but next time I want to show something more than fog of war so will be working on them a bit more, implementing some new features, some of which might be pretty unique.
Also there will be a cool feature that a buddy Tuskin4 is helping with - lore information in game for all regions of Faerun (meaning larger regions not the ones that are game regions). That will be most probably included as preset indestructible buildings in all of the campaign's regions giving lore history and culture info and to a certain degree geography intel info on a number of regions in the area. It will be in form of maps and will help to get a general idea of the surroundings and possibilities that each region presents. They may even have upgrades that would act as discoveries, with even more detailes on trade resources, settlements and possible enemies.
Redesigned Faction Roster
Aside from the new features, there will be some changes in the factions roster as while reworking the campaign I'm doing some additional researches on settlements and factions that have already led me to some different conclusions that previously. Examples could be that what was earlier planned as factions of Baldur's Gate, Waterdeep and Elturgard may end up as one faction - the Lords' Alliance. Luskan will no longer be only Luskan but will be changed into Captains' Confederation (stronger and more norse-like faction) with more focus on seafaring and island invasions. Silver Marches may be changed or even split into two factions, one of which being a dwarven one (New Delzoun)- though all that is not really decided yet. Elves of Evereska are likely to be abandoned as a separate faction and a different elven faction may take their place - Myth Drannor (rebuildings the empire of Cormanthyr).
Another very important thing is that the Spellplague will not be included at all. For one reason it can't be really implemented as it happened, for another it would spoil all the fun that comes from using magical units.
Is this dead?

I would call it dead until Vladyvid returns. If such ever happens![]()
Yep, and Im not dead. Actually, Ive been working on this mod for the last month or so, completing the reworked map and researching stuff mostly as some of my initial concepts have changed. Some factions going bye bye, others being introduced. If there are still some poeple out there interested in this mod, I'll be posting updates as I have quite some progress (though sure not as much as it would be if I had not had a break).
everyone has to have a break sometime ^^ .. lurkers are still around watching..
I always check our Group and this Thread from time to time. I'm glad I did.![]()
I am subscribed to this thread, so new posts just tend to pop out. Much easier way to navigate through forums
Allright, so before any "proper" update is presented, I need to show this mini update to explain the general changes to the campaign concerning faction arrangement/selection. My main aim with this new faction selection is to cover the main conflict zones in Faerun with factions that:
A. are on a quest to rebuild their once lost empire, and
B. those that are fairly new and have apetites for conquest/development
C. those that are main targets of the Faerun's major powers
The chart below shows all factions I'd like to include, but some of them are less important than others so "only" some 20-22 of them are my main focus. That is mostly because of the lack of research done for those less important factions aswell as their lesser relevance compared to the rest.

As you can see above, several factions from the old selection are gone:
Shadovar / Netheril - I decided it will be too hard and troublesome to try to do them justice, taking into account that they should fly around Faerun in their floating cities and be just one uberfaction that cannot be destroyed or maybe not even challenged. Instead their actions will be simulated (in a way) with certain events and possible something else;
Dambrath and Halruaa - both located in a rather remote part of the south (the lower right corner that is impassable now), making them isolated and because of that most likely also boring to play;
Great Rift - placed in the "middle of nowhere" (smaller impassable area in the south-east) would be too isolated and without any natural enemies, too boring;
Evereska - once again an isolated but also isolationist faction replaced with a much more goal oriented Elves of Cormanthor (on a quest to rebuild their Empire of Cormanthyr);
Luskan - a city state in the north which at certain point formed a confederation known as Captains Confederation which replaces them now, making this faction overall stronger and more able to stand against their neighbouring adversaries
Chessenta - a collection of city states that fight amongst themselves, so not really possible to represent as a solid faction
That's it for the moment. Next I'll be posting updates for the map showing more details being implemented such as PSFs, new resources and more. Stay tuned.![]()
^^ please as if you could get rid of me ...
PSF Update Part 1
As said before I'm adding permanent stone forts to the campaign map and here is a preview of what I'm doing. So far I've decided on three different types of PSFs: castles, towns and villages. Each type will appear as a different type of a settlement on both the campaign map and the battlefield.

The faction symbols have been refreshed a bit. The Moonshaes symbol is their ruling dynasty coat of arms that I found, and for Captains Confederation I just came up with that on my own as I had no specific information. If you might be wondering what's Amn's symbol - it's the trade goddess Waukeen.
This. Is. BEAUTIFUL!![]()
Thank you.Will look better with new settlements and resources models...

It looks absolutely Fantastic. Can't wait to play it.
It's probably not the most important thing to post, but since I'm still busy working on other stuff that needs more work to be previewed, I decided to show you the redesigned factions symbols. These are not for all the factions yet as I havent done them all yet. Only Damara and Cormyr symbols remained unchanged, and for those that have been changed or modified it was either because I found some lore sources giving me new information or wanted to make them stand out a bit more and look more stylish.
The factions names are little hard to read as apparently while masking the background I also masked the name tags a little, so from front row down, left to right, they are: Lords Alliance, Captains Confederation, Many-Arrows, Moonshaes, Amn, Calimshan, Tethyr, Chondath, Cormyr, Sembia, Zhentarim, Cormanthyr, Damara, Rashemen, Aglarond, Thay, Mulhorand, Unther and the Minor Factions / Rebels.
Also, I can see this topic getting quite a few views everyday so let me just say thanks to everyone showing interest.
I'm now working on my own so it takes time, but if anyone would be willing to give me a hand with anything it would be great. You dont need any modding skills at all - Id need some help from researcher(s), or any person with knowledge and/or passion for this kind of setting.
Currently Im working on adding more PSFs to the map aswell as trying to learn to put new models into the game - as I'm aiming to replace the settlements and resources models with something new and custom made for this mod.
