    Default Computer screwing up :(

Hey guys, got a weird problem with my computer whenever I try and start up, it powers up but doesn't boot and makes these long beeping sounds over and over again... Anyone know how to fix this problem or do I need a new pc?

Depends on the beeps. First you need to figure out what make/model your mobo is then get the error codes (in beeps) that it generates when there is a problem and match the beeping pattern you hear to one of the error codes.

Your machine is failing what is called the POST - Power On Self Test.

As Squid said, the number of beeps and their length have a specific meaning. Each computer manufacturer has a different code for different problems, but you can find a fairly good list of them here.

My experience has been that it's usually a memory failure (RAM).
To be governed is to be watched, inspected, directed, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, and commanded, by creatures who have neither the right, wisdom, nor virtue to do so. To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, taxed, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, admonished, reformed, corrected, and punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be placed under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted, and robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, abused, disarmed, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, and betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, and dishonored. -Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

sometimes, hence the beep codes, could be video, cpu, or a faulty mb on the fritz.

follow the beep code, try to re seat(1st test), failing that replace.

still the same codes. then mb might be faulty

    lastly, never say never psu.

    think that covers most bases

The most recent time I had issues like this was when my PSU decided to fuse itself to the mobo. The electrical scarring from the fusing was so slight I didn't catch the problem for over a week while I was trying to figure out the problem.
